Yearbooks?

we could take our own photo at home and though Shutterfly they would print a package for us. 🙄

Is the company that normally takes your school pictures and/or you order your school yearbooks from Lifetouch? If so, no surprise that they'd offer that since Shutterfly and Lifetouch are owned by the same company -- there's something in it for them. We had fall photos here since we're in school, but early on when they weren't sure if we would, they did say that we'd send in our photo to someone at the school who would coordinate w/ the yearbook company to have everyone's individual picture in it.

I'd probably just go ahead and order it anyway -- like you said, it will be interesting to look back on later.

They are on full distance learning until at least January, and even at that it could be extended.

If there are no in-person classes, then likely few/if any sports or ECA's, so I doubt there will be much in the way on content. If they aren't doing pictures at school, many of the classmates may not even be in the book. If everyone sends in their own photo, likely they will be a hodge-podge of quality/lighting and various backgrounds.

I only order yearbooks for the last year they are at a school, with 3 kids getting each a yearbook every year is way too expensive.
My ds is a senior this year, our HS yearbooks are $85 to $110 depending on when you order.
I will get him one this year, but the starting price better be way less this year.

I only bought my senior yearbook because my Mom wanted it. I really couldn't have cared less. We had a basement flood some years ago and it was destroyed along with some other high school mementos that I had squirreled away and never looked at until the day I had to throw them away.

My kids haven’t wanted any high school yearbooks. In our area, they aren’t a very big thing. (My crew is 16, 18, and 20). In the private school where I worked, maybe half purchased them. At our local public school, it’s maybe a third.

does anyone have a high school class ring?

no on jr high books.....I have not seen my high school 4 since 1985 when I shoved the trunk into the attic...but I did come across my senior book at the Goodwill garbage outlet by the pound store....tore out the pages that had me...no name in the book. ...those 8 pages are in my steel fire box....in case of emergency

I have my hs class ring. I think I wore it less than a year, though.
I wore mine nine months...arrived at university....nobody wore their high school ring.. However, it was always in my shaving kit and sat in my medicne cabinet above the sink when I finally settled down.....for at least 23 years.....then she got the got the house in the divorce...and I have no idea where it is now...which is sad,...my grandmother paid a lot of money in the fall of 1973 for that white gold ring.

I would get it- I have all of mine and all of the girls'. They are fun to look through and this year should be interesting (hopefully they get some good content together).

Sometimes we go through mine and I point out to the girls all the kids that became parents of their classmates. :rotfl:

@chickapin parterre you should start a spin off thread, it'd be interesting to see who all has a class ring, and if they got their kids one

My oldest wanted one. She wore it less than I did. Now it sits in a pretty case in her room LOL

I think a school ring form goes out, but I don’t know anyone who bought one. They were big when I was in HS, there was a ring dance. Varsity jackets are still huge here, I was smart when my second child made varsity, ordered her jacket before she even got her letter so it would be done quickly (fall sports gives out letters in November, the jackets cost $300+ so you want to get use out of them, my oldest didn’t get his jacket until January). They never get worn after graduation so it’s nice to have a few years.
