We were there last week and I have never had so many rides break down! We had to be rescued from Space Mountain and Snow White. While in line Grizzly River shut down TWICE! (My 12 year old's favorite -- she almost cried). And Pirates.

Luckily, they did fix the problems and we were able to ride them later. I never once saw any dreams awarded -- just the broken rides.

We still had a wonderful time -- at least we were at Disneyland!

What a bummer!

Aside from Splash Mountain being down, we didn't have any problems a couple of weeks ago when we were there. We got "dreamed" (sort of) with Dumbo tattoos for the kids. Hey, like you said it was still Disneyland, right?

We were there a couple weeks ago. We didnt encounter a lot of broken rides. Space was down a couple of times. We ended up only riding it once in 5 days. I wanted to ride it one last time, our last day, but it was down at the time. We also sat on Soarin' once for a really long time before it started. CM's were all going and checking something, then the little recording would play and the ride wouldnt start. Probably took at least 10 minutes to get it going.

In 5 days in the park we also never saw any prizes handed out. I saw a small handful of people with ears, lanyards or dream fp- but not really as much as we had expected.

Sorry to hear that you had trouble with the rides. I know that to me it seems over the years the parks have been getting busier so maybe they're having a harder time balancing ride maintenance with the crowds. But I don't know if that is even a factor it's just a guess.

When we went in November we had a few ride issues as well, where things just didn't seem to be working quite right, but like you we had an awesome time anyway. Oh we also didn't see any dreams being given out.

We were there last week too. We had several break down. Were you there Thursday? That's when we were stuck on Space Mtn. I think Pirates was down about every other time we went to ride it which was very frustrating since it's my kid's favorite ride.

We were there last week, too...Pirates was down for most of Tuesday, which was a bummer, but then it was back up for the rest of the week.

The only other broken ride we had was Pooh. Halfway through they had to have us walk back...which is kind of sad!

That was my exact guess as well. With the 50th hype, the year of a million dreams, the new halloween thing, several Pirates premiers with ride referbs, the Monsters Inc ride last year and nemo this year, I am definatly not shocked to such over whelming responses at the park. I would definately think its a bit harder to keep up the referb scheduals.

Seriously, its hard to keep a car running 12 hours a day, 365days a year.

I think it was Thursday when we got stuck! My 5 year old and I were in the last car, 1/3 of the way up the second initial climb. I had quite a jump to get out. I was very happy that I got to do it later though.

When we were there last August, POTC went down for about 3 hours(big Back up) and HM was out for about 4, besides that all the rides were operational, if they were not, we did not notice. I sometimes think there is more of an effort during the peak season than the value. Besides all the renovations going on, it is better to make sure everything is top notch during the busy time.

Just a thought,

I hope POTC won't break down while i'm there in June. Gosh, I've never heard of it breaking down so much.

I really want to get stuck on Haunted Mansion at the ballroom/dinner scene with a break down so I can take lots of time to see everything! lol...how funny, my dream is to be stuck!

So sorry, but at least it was still DL!

LOL i've been stuck at that point, it was great... I actually whipped out my video camera to take pics although I wasnt suppsed to. I thought why the heck not.

Wow, we must have been lucky. We just got back on Sunday from 10 days at DL (only had 5 planned but dd8 ended up in hospital having her appendix out). Some of us were at the parks each day and we only came across Space and Pirates being down once each - and we rode each about 5-6 times over the week and half. No being rescued - which I think would have been kind of fun. Hmm.. just thinking now I do recall hearing about another ride which had broken down - I think it might have been screamin (oh, love that coaster) and don't think being stuck on that one would be fun.

Actually got stuck on POTC just before the incline at the end. There was a huge back up of the boats with the same announcement every minute or so. After a while we decided that the Pirate's Life for Me song was too much so we got our boat and a few ones close by to start singing It's a Small World. I'm pretty sure that was the reason the ride was "fixed" right away....:lmao:

Last trip we spent 10 days at both parks and had the following breakdowns:
Splash: Right at the top of the hill, had to walk down through the maintenance trails and got a replacement fastpass
Space: right at the start got backed into a service lane and another replacement fastpass
Thunder: Broke down at least twice (not while we were on it)
Buzz:Came to a stop for 10 minutes, could still shoot and score though

Still all part of the adventure for us, because we were there for so long didn't affect our stay

yep on our trip we got kicked off the SM line because of Technical difficulties and I rode singel rider on splash mountain and it stopped at the top because of "log jumping".. scared the bejeasus outa me.. but made it off okay.. just sad when your on it! lol
