Hello people! I am super excited to see that I have readers already! Now, I feel that l need to say I have no idea where I'm going with this PTR. I have made a few plans so far but I'm not quite sure what I'm going to be planning in the future. The main thing that I will be working on between now and then is my sanity. That, I will get to later. But for now, here are the details...
The Dates...
12/1 - 12/7
The Place...
Our home resort. We are fortunate enough to be DVC members and we absolutely LOVE this place! When we found out that they were selling points at AKV back in 2007, we were in. Hook line and sinker. I just don't know what it is about the place but I love the feel there!! I want to travel to South Africa one day but until then, this serves as a very close representation.
We will be staying in a studio...
With a value view. Now, before you poo poo my value view, let me just tell you... we stayed there May of 2009 with a value view and it was gorgeous. It was of the pool but the pool is surrounded by lush gardens and streams so that's what we saw every day. The beautiful greenery, the bubbling streams, and then the pool. It was great and well worth the points. The savannah view we have done as well and yes, it is awesome. But it's quite a few more points than value so no thanks. We won't be hanging out on the balcony all that much anyway.
So speaking of savannah view, that brings me to the first problem of this trip planning. I originally booked a 5 night stay back in January when my booking window opened up. We woud fly in early on 12/2 and get a full day at the parks in. When the Southwest flight schedule for December finally came out recently, I found that the earliest flight leaving NewOrleans (NOLA) was at 9:55am which wouldn't put us getting there until 12ish and to our hotel at 1ish and who knows when to the park. That for me, my friends, was not going to cut the mustard. So, I casually bumped the date up to 12/1 to check for a later flight. Lo and behold there is one that leaves at 4pm and gets us there around 6:30. We could then head to the hotel, hang out a bit, have a drink around the fire pit, let the kids play with the night vision goggles, eat, and then settle in for a good nights sleep. So that is exactly what we did. I booked the flight and called DVC to add a night to our ressie. Only problem is, the night of the 1st wasn't available with the value view
But, they did have a savannah view. So I guess we will just have to suck it up and see the animals on the first night then move to the value. After that was all said and done, I figured why not just switch the whole freaking thing over to savannah view so I called DVC back. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on the way you look at it, the savanah view wasn't available for our entire stay. I told them woman to just leave it like it was and it was a sign that I shouldn' t change it! So there, we will do one night savannah and 5 nights value. Fine by me.
Ok, so now we have the hotel and dates set. Naturally, we'be been talking about it more and more especially since the dining window has been opened for a while now. Oh don't you worry. I had it marked on my calendar like every good DISer does and I was on the phone bright and early that morning. Got everything I wanted down to the minute
I will share those choices with you later. For now, I must explain my title.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going back. Wait, you want to come to? Uh huh"
Then there are the in-laws. Jason's parents. Sweet Lord help me. They have now jumped on the bandwagon and have decided to tag along as well. My only saving grace is that they are using an off site time share and they can't check in until 12/4 which is 3 days after we get there so we'll have that down time before the calvary comes to town. They don't have anyone else there so they are going to be totally focused on us. Not looking forward to this. His dad has already emailed me asking if they can eat with us the nights that they're there. Sure, Papa (that's what my kids call him), I'll just go ahead and completely rearrange my already set in stone itinerary and ADR's that have been planned since June and cross my fingers that I can find a restaurant that actually want to go to that will seat 10 people. Hmmmmm, STRESS is setting in
I still don't know what my response is going to be to him. I think we will just offer to eat a few quick service meals with them. I am not messing with my ADR's. What would you do????
