What type of food does Boatrights serve ?

How is it ?

Price range ?

PS needed ?

Would YOU eat there  ?

Good for kids (one pickey, one not so pickey) ?

Check out the menu's (child's menu as well) at Deb's Menus from Around the World

PS may not be needed, depending on when you go; I recommend PS though.

We've eaten there on several occasions. We usually eat a big breakfast on a day when we sleep late and don't visit a park. At Boatright's, most of us ordered breakfast off of the menu and had plenty to eat. We have enjoyed breakfast and dinner there and liked the food and service.:p

The breakfast is indeed good! Especially the banana stuffed french toast... YUMMY!

We had dinner there and we thought it was very good. Our service was great and there was more food than we could eat. We started with an appetizer that the 3 of us split and our main courses were ribs, steak and prime rib. We shared a dessert that was enough for the 3 of us. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of it but I remeber it being wonderful. The price ranged from approximately $18.00 - $23.00 per person not including appetizer, beverage, or dessert.

We didn't have PS and had to wait about 30 minutes. We were there in August if this helps any.

We have stayed at POR a number of times, and almost always have at least one dinner at Boatwrights. I would definitely recommend it for a family looking for a slightly more formal experience than the food court. (Not that it's that fancy, but at least you get waited on and have a little broader selection!) On our last visit there our children were 2, 5, and 9, and they were all satisfied with their meals. (They have the standard kids meal choices, albeit with more creative names, like "How Now Round Cow" for hamburgers or "Oodles of Noodles" for pasta.)

As noted by others, you can often get in without a PS, especially if you aren't at a peak time. And, if you plan a day or two ahead (or even call that morning), you can probably get a PS pretty easily anyway.

The "Garlic Cheese Bites" make a good starter. (Our children liked them, too.) Also, I like the "smokehouse dressing" that they serve on their salads.

Enjoy! :earsboy:

I can vouch for the breakfast--. We always try to get over there for breakfast once each trip.
Never did a PS for that meal, and never had to wait beyond a few minutes.

We stay at Dixie alot and always eat at Boatwrights. Breakfast is perfect at this resort. The price is not much more than eating breakfast at the foodcourt, so well worth it. Dinner is good too, but not alot of choices for me. I often go and have a bowl of soup and a side salad. They are very accommodating for us light eaters. They do, however, have wonderful bread. I find the kids menu the best at this restraurant. It has all of the usual, plus a kids shrimp platter. My grandson enjoys this restraurant. I find their prices to be mid-range. PS is rarely needed, but sometimes in the evening during busy times and if the weather is not good, they can be very busy. You can just call from your room to check on wait time. This one reminds me of a "Cracker Barrel" in appearance, but the food is a little fancier.

Ate at Boatwright's Christmas night. The joint was jumping, but that was expected. I last ate there in July and it was dead. I recommend a PS just in case. At our most recent visit DH had the shrimp jambalaya (chicken was also a choice), DS had the tbone special with baked potato and DD and I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately I think our mashed potatoes were instant. This was a surprise since we had had homemade mashed potatoes before. DS said the baked potato was wonderful. We had 2 servings of the garlic cheese bites for appetizers - they were wonderful, as always! Our bill was $113 before tip. This was without any alcohol or dessert. We always enjoy the food, the service and the ambience of Boatwrights!!

I haven't had dinner there (yet), but I wouldn't miss breakfast! The banana-stuffed toast and the Crescent City french toast are worth the trip to WDW. All the rest of the stuff--parks, shows, resorts--are just added frills!

I can't wait to go back in the spring (and the fall

How is it ? OK, not great, but not bad! Breakfast is better.

Price range ? We found it high for some of the entrees, like the jambalaya, etc... the servings were very large, but there was more rice, and nowhere near enough chicken or sausage. Breakfast prices were consistant with other breakfast restaurants on property

PS needed ? no, but they may be helpful, especially in the morning... it didn't appear to be too crowded in the evening, though.

Would I eat there again? Yes for breakfast, and a maybe, bordering on no for dinner

It has been a couple of years but I still say that we had the best steak we have ever had there. Also enjoyed the lava cake.

GO!!!!!!
