ok..i lied...i have a vent here...

i work at a computer training center. i am the receptionist...and i work for a giant jerk (that was as clean as i could be without being censored)!!

this man has absolutely no respect for anyone here. he's arrogant, although you wouldn't think that looking at him. he's a weasel. we have a total of 5 employees in this office. myself, the GM (him), an account manager, and 2 instructors. he doesn't communicate with anyone but me, and that's not saying much. he'll tell me at least when he's leaving but that's it. the other account manager HATES him. and she doesn't hate anyone under normal circumstances. he's very inconsiderate. here's an example: yesterday...he tells me that he has a doctor's appointment scheduled for this morning and may not be in until noon. once a week, we take our tech classes out to lunch and chat with them about their jobs, etc...well, today was his day for tech lunch. i asked him what if he's not here in time for tech lunch? he says that the other account manager will have to take them. i know for a fact that he won't say a word to her, so i mention it to her, just a forewarning. well, he doesn't come in until noon and he never called her or asked her if she could even do the lunch! not an e-mail. nothing. she was able to do the lunch, but don't you think he should have said something to her? she was LIVID. she went off on him when she got back about the situation. all's he could say was "you were busy when i left last night." ok...has he ever heard of e-mail at least? i am not his messenger...i HATE being the middle man in this!!! we're having difficulty with a particular class this week. the students are NOT happy with the instructor (he's a guest instructor not one of our regulars)...well, he, of course, had conveniently scheduled a doctor's appointment this morning AFTER he found out how unhappy this class was. this was the class he was to be taking to lunch today. hmmm...so the other gal and one of our other instructors take them to lunch and talk about the situation and what we can do to fix it. the two of them work hard at rebuilding that trust with those clients. and they work at the solution this afternoon. do all the research, etc. when the instructor approaches the GM about talking to the class before they left, the GM looks at this guy like he's an idiot...which he's not. he's one of the greatest men (aside from my hubby!) that i have ever known. he takes pride in his job and has a wonderful rapport with students. the GM informs him that he will follow up with the students at a later time so that he's not in the classroom discussing this in front of the (bad) instructor. (it's not that the instructor is bad, he just didn't present the info to the liking of this crowd). he didn't want the instructor to feel bad. well, the whole class and the instructor was well aware of this, even in on the solution! isn't it better to face the situation head on instead of allowing time to pass and the clients to feel worse about their experience? well, so then our instructor asks the GM if he even wants to know what research he's done to help resolve this today. sure, says the GM and proceeds to look at this man as if he doesn't even exist. that's how he is to everyone. it's horrible. i won't willingly leave my job, unless he pushes me over the edge one day. so far, that hasn't happened. but i hate not being respected...and i hate the way my co-workers are treated. we've tried to get our president to see what's going on down here, but unfortunately, the GM is the only one actually bringin in money right now. even with his crappy way of selling. he sells computer training and he barely knows how to turn his computer on...

i'm glad that my desk is way far away from the happenings in the back of the office. it's a regular three ring circus around here. no one likes him. and he wonders why i don't laugh and joke around with him like i do everyone else...

ok...my vent's over for the moment...thanks for listening...have a good night!!!

LOL Brandie...sorry, not laughing at you, just thinking about a vent post of mine one time ( not quite as long as yours though ;) ) anyway...the others never really responded to the issue, just asked if I had had a chance to take a breath while typing one multi-line-run-on -sentence-post-vent.
No wonder all Christine could do was wave. hehehehe
Anyway, sorry for the troubles at work. Vent away, anytime :)

DH and I had a delightful dinner out. Thankds for the anniversary wishes ! :)

DD and the BF have decided not to break up, but to each spend more time with their individual and mutual friends and less time together-alone--together. They've realized that they have more FUN out separately or together DOING something as opposed to hanging out alone together at out house or his. I bit my tongue, I really did, I didn't scream out loud: HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been telling you this for the last 3 or 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) :)
Good kids, smart kids, both of them good students and active in sports and other activities - but YIKES this parenting stuff is draining
Teri--- tell George to hang in there for GRANDBABIES...much more fun, much more sleep, and less stress. :)

nite everyone!

Christine....you don't like turkey????

Brandie, I hope you type faster than I do ;)
sorry about your situation though, hope it gets better

Hello All,

Brandie - sorry you are going through a tough time...

Ann- the latest saga is that George has been talking all evening about a little baby at work that he got to hold today...What is up with that????? Savannah and I got a detailed description of this baby....Now this man has been working with babies for 15 months now.....

Christine - back at you!!!!!!!!!

Hi Debbie...

Now where is that SSB and Cookie, etc....

I'd love to stay around and chat..however I am enthralled at the moment with the Bachelor.... :) :)

Teri, I watched the Bachelor last night for the very first time and I really had to wonder why everyone likes this show so much...... maybe its cuz I didn't watch from the beginning

Christine, your sign says "eat fish, love turkey" so I'm assuming you mean eat fish instead and leave the turkey alone :teeth thats what I meant about the turkey

oh me oh my hehehehehehehe

Good morning everyone.

Looking forward to getting back to work this morning ;)....just to enjoy the dozen red roses I got yesterday. (Left them there so I can enjoy them all day and the cat won't eat them or knock them over  )

Oh that John is such a sweetie Ann ;) but you already knew that :)

Teri I think George has the baby bug ;)

good morning all!

at least my day ended on a good note...matthew kidnapped me and we went and saw harry potter and the chamber of secrets! i really enjoyed it, but the scenes with the spiders can go...we sat in one of those theaters with the surround sound and it really enhanced the movie so much more! but i could hear little spiders running around from every direction and didn't like that...i was a little disappointed in the character of dobby though...too tall from what i had imagined...

the other gal i work with just came up here and said that she believes that s*** will hit the fan today here. she had a very lengthy and detailed conversation with one of the guys from our north office yesterday and he's just as livid as she is. no one likes our GM...at all. it's really a sad thing too. matthew was the one that started working here before i did. they brought me on about a month later...when he started our GM was pretty cool. he took us to dinner all the time and was very social. but as soon as he feels someone is a threat to him, which mathew was, he turns into mega giant jerk. and that's the way he's stayed. it's been nearly a year now. he was cool with the account manager he hired...we think that he actually had a thing for her, but as soon as she became the slightest threat to him, he turned into mega giant jerk...well anyway, this guy from our north office will be in town today and we think that he may be coming in and having a "chat" with the GM here. this office would be so much better if this guy was gone, but then again, i wonder how long it would be before we were closed down without him here...
shrug.gif
...i'll keep ya'll informed...

i am so looking forward to my weekend...followed by a short work week next week...i don't think i can handle much more here!!

have a good day cheerleaders!!
