is that how it works?

Of course. Can't you tell that from reading the posts from Debbie and me for all of these months? And, since I am really old, I must be the wisest, by far.

Gave a good week-end, Brandie.

Brandie---AWESOME house...I love it!

Debbie and Sue-
you guys are too much ;) :teeth:
Made me smile and giggle reading today's posts :)

TGIF

going for dinner with MY "jackpot" man ;)

PS...I got a haircut today...and a new "do" :earseek:
I've been wearing my hair the same for about 15 years and it's a bit different as of tonite... a little shorter, not so "fluffed" and pushed behind the ears with a couple of little pieces like female sideburns (if you know what I mean  ) DD thought it was sort of "retro" 70's but I told her no, 70's was BIG hair, this is 60's Twiggyish but not quite as short/extreme.
of course the youngsters among us have NO clue what I'm talking about..............
anyway...I think I like it. DH even noticed it- in a positve way- so that's a good sign.

Before the hairdresser I had an eye doc appt........and I officially need reading glasses  good thing my fashion consultant DD was with me to pick out frames........but now I wonder, will they look different with the new "do" :earseek: LOL

Hehehehe Debbie-- the new S/D cheerleader motto:
"Disney meet or croak" ribbit ribbit ribbit ;)
So, when are we all going ?!?!?!?!

What's everyone up to this weekend? Susie-Poohsie, are you working?
For me...chores and such tomorrow, hickey game tomorrow night....Sunday probably an overdue trip south to visit parents....would like to squeeze in a grandbaby visit or two...not sure...I wish the weekends were 5 days and the work week 2 days LOL ;)

Where have Gail and Shellie been lately? And SSB?????????? BT? Milo? TC??? Teri and Christine have popped in briefly, right? Oh boy, I'lll bet I'm in trouble for forgetting someone..............
and hey all you lurkers out there........POST here if you read this :teeth: we won't bite ;)

OMG :earseek: I meant HOCKEY game, not hickey game
bwahahahahahaha
days of the latter are LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG gone teeheehee

Yes, Ann---Welcome to the "Arms Are Too Short Now" club.
 You are of course, joining with some illustrious members (i.e.--Debbie and me ) :p by needing a little help seeing the fine print.

Lucky you guys with your "jackpot" men. Too often, I think I got the "crackpot". :( He has some excellent qualities, don't get me wrong, but, nevertheless, there some flaws, and, one major one in particular gets harder and harder to gloss over, as it seems to be the reason for so many of the problems that haunt me. :( . Nevertheless, I am on a Valentine hunt for him, cause that's what I do....

No--no work for me this week-end. Well, not at the hospital
anyway. I have tons of laundry to do and Valentine decorations to put up, so, will stay busy. Plus, tomorrow afternoon, the boys go play YuGiOh cards at the bookstore for a couple of hours, so, I shall be there with them.

This cheerleader is planning a tentative trip for December, right around Christmas break, but, before Christmas. Well, that is if Uncle Sam is as generous refunding some of that money I gave him as I hope he will be. ;)

Hopefully, I won't croak before then.

OMG--I hadn't noticed that when I was reading your post. I wonder if those days are long over, or if things are just better hidden. I mean with your antlers and noisemaking and all... :teeth:

LOL Sue..........nah, I just never understood that whole thing......never thought that the process was any kind of turn-on...when you had to hide the results anyway "back in the day" (as DD says) hehehe

but this brought back such a memory from high school when a VERY Irish fair-skinned red-headed friend of mine came to school one HOT June day near the end of junior year (OMG...that's how old my DD is right now!)...anyway she was wearing a long sleeved white cotton turtleneck, with the neck straight up...I mean you know how the neck should fold over at least once? LOL. I was so naively befuddled as to WHY she needed to hide her neck..............apparently she was COVERED with multiple hickeys from jawline down to............who knows where  ............and had unsuccessfully tried all these IrishCatholic schoolgirl tales (as opposed to old wives tales I guess) rememdies...............like steaming them with boiling water then dousing them in alcohol to "fade" them..........none of which worked obviously.............she was grounded for months by her parents LOL not to mention the mortification of everyone talking about it at school.

Anyway...........good luck on your Valentine hunt, and I think I know what you mean by looking for the perfect gift because "that's what you do" . I'm in a similar frame of mind, not with DH but with a sibling or two that I do love, but am having a great deal of difficulty overlooking certain qualities and actions............espcially their actions are directed to or affect OTHER siblings with their own flaws or our parents who are having enough problems as it is. Sigh.

Isn't it great to just plan a trip, even tentative?? So are you thinking DISCon time frame or later, just before Xmas??

Ann--that story reminds me of my brother. You would have to know my mother--stodgy, staid, old-fashioned, and very strict even for "back then". Those marks were absolutely forbidden when we were young and I got into (big) trouble one time (but, quickly learned my lesson, where that was concerned). Anyway, my brother was "the good one" (hah! He was just the smart one and always covered his tracks, whereas I was the rebellious one--the trouble maker--go figure  ). Anyway, Gary was 2 years older than me, and became a full time firefighter when he was 18 years old. You must understand that the Louisville Fire Dept works 24 hr shifts, then off for 48 and the guys are allowed to trade shifts and cover for one another, at will.
So, Gary was working a lot of trades...covering other shifts,( but, I never noticed him getting any extra days off as pay back). Anyway, he would come home from "working" these "extra" 24 hr shifts with these places on his neck. Oh, no---don't think that's what they were, cause I know better  . See, my mom would ask about these places and he would always say they had made a housefire and hot tar from the roof had dripped onto his neck. You know, in their turn out gear, the neck was about the only body part exposed at all, but, the long back of his helmet and the high collar of his turn out coat should have protected his neck at least a little, but, obviously, they just didn't work. :teeth: Yeah, right, And I have ocean front property in Arizona to sell. :p Believe it or not, my mom bought that story every single time (gee--Gary made a house fire and got burned on his neck by hot roof tar dripping down every time he worked a trade  ). Never ceased to amaze me, but, it worked for him...

We are looking for after DIS-Con (which my family would not get into, and the cost, IMHO, is too much). Right now looking at the last week of school before break, or maybe the last 1/2 week before break, going into the first week of break. Something like the 16th through the 22nd or close to those dates. You wanna go then, too???? :teeth:

I wanna go then too ad so does Kevin, I think.

Just popping in to say a quick hello, now I'm off to bed. Ya'll hae a great Saturday, I've gotta work. Goodnight!

I wanna go ANYTIME..............
I never really considered the actual DISCon thing (which BTW ended up being reduced due to low registration and ended up being scaled-down as far as "official" events) but lots of people go unofficially during that time for mini-meets...........
anyway.....the answer is I'd like to go ANYTIME ;) but probably won't..........

Cute story about you brother hahahaha

Happy Saturday.

EEK!! my cable has been out off and on since last night....
still don't know if its fixed or it may go out again.

Cute hickey stories you two ;)

Something like the 16th through the 22nd or close to those dates. You wanna go then, too????
thats when the Bball games start and mike will be a senior, his final year.....so its no for me

Oh my goodness, I am just so upset over this space shuttle that has been lost. :(
It really hits so close to us here in Concord...just days ago the 17th anniversary of the Challenger. Christa McAuliffe grew up in my hometown in Mass and later relocated to Concord where she became the "first teacher in space". DH is aquainted with her husband through mutual aquantances. He and his second wife and several other couples have dinner most Fridays in the Mexican restaurant where DH and I go. Last night we nodded hello, and I noticed his son, who was a 2nd or 3rd grader in '86, was with them for dinner. Hadn't seen him in years as he went away to both high school and college. I commented to DH how odd it was to see this grown up young man when he's sort of frozen in memory as a little boy. On top of today's tragedy in itself, my heart aches for the families of the '86 accident, I'm sure it opens up some of the horror again for them.
Anyway, I'm rambling, I'm upset...
so group hug to all on this sad day. :(

My heart is with you, Ann. I am so so sad by this. I grew up in Cocoa Beach Area and the shuttles first started going up when I was in high school.

I remember when Columbia first went up.....Everyone in the area hung big green ribbons on their homes and businesses. It was to mean "GO"....

I just started to cry today when I heard this. It is that same feeling as Challenger...Utter disbelief and pain...Just so so sad....

I am home alone and typing and just feel so numb.....

:(

**sigh** off to the hockey game, UNH vs Maine
Not really in the mood :(

((hugs)) to all

hey everyone...

thought i'd pop in to say hello...

didn't know about the columbia thing until we were in HH Gregg looking at tv's. so sad :(

we went to another housing addition today... we are now looking at a bigger house in a different neighborhood. same builder though...this addition is pretty cool. it's called summerlakes and it gives the illusion of summer homes. it's kind of neat...it's all built around a lake...small lake, but it's large enough for "non motorized sports equipment"...at first i was very opposed to this addition...i so had my heart set on the other one with the disney connection, but the more that i think about it, the more that i like the new addition. the house is not much more money, but it's a lot bigger...and we would have a real yard...the cool thing about this new addition though is that they have a "big wheel park" for kids and their big wheels!! cute, huh? here's the new floorplan and picture

k...gonna run for now...catch ya all on monday...

Hey! I haven't forgotten ya'll !!!

Have ya'll forgotten the BT???
;)

Been having a winter clearance sale and getting the new spring in the store....

Plus, Mom was in the ER for "med complications" this last week!!!!:(

Scanned the last pages since I've been "gone"....

missed you all!

:p

Hi BT!! Hope mom is doing OK. "Been there done that" with the parents...health probs, ER visits.....etc and so forth. ((HUGS)) to you.

Brandie- the fact that both of your floor plans show "game rooms" right next to the master bedroom has me giggling. ;)
heeheehee The new neighborhood sounds nice- the little lake!! and I love that floor plan too! The house looks very much like one my sister had in Colorado. But what I like about the first one over the second one is that the first one doesn't have the big garage door staring you in the face...I guess it's the old New England look with a front porch and the garage detached or off to the side or back that Iappeals to me. But it's common even here now in the new developments that they have the big garage door as your first impression pulling in to the house.

Happy Sunday to all.
