My mum and I travelled to the YC from Australia. During the stay, mum got sick. I woke up and she was barely breathing. I called an ambulance and they took her from the room. A manager showed up as we were leaving and asked for her name and date of birth. I was a little annoyed by this but understood they have policies.
Mum was put in an induced coma and was not expected to survive. During they next few days, I returned to the YC to sleep, shower and do laundry. On my check out day, I asked for a late check out and was declined. At no point did any staff or management check on me, mums status or if there was anything they could do to assist me. I was alone in a foreign country and very upset.
I don't know what I as expecting them to do, but I was disappointed they didn't ask if they could do anything.
Thoughts?
We were in the USA another 6 weeks until mum was cleared to fly and seven months later and mum has just been released from hospital and given the all clear. She is a fighter that one
