YC - Help!

We have booked the YC (standard) for our upcoming trip.

Any ideas of good room locations to request?

We would love to be close to the pool area if possible.

When I've made requests at other WDW resorts (which I know are not guaranteed but if they don't know they can't even consider it) I've done something like this:

Non smoking, full balcony, upper floor, close to the pool area

Does this sound like it would be an okay request for the YC?

Also is it possible to see any of the firework displays from the YC?

I wanted to be near Stormalong Bay and near the boat launch. So I requested a room near the lobby. We ended up with room 1151, or something like that. This room faced the courtyard entrance to the lobby, which is the courtyard that also leads to the boat launch. We could see the water from an angle and could see some Epcot fireworks. It was probably the closest to the pool as we could get. I would take this location again.

The only way you're going to see any fireworks from a YC room is if you are in a lagoon view room, not necessarily a water view. Water view at YC can mean anything from a view of the lake to a view of either pool, to a view of the canal running in front of the YC.

I don't believe a standard view room will allow you to see the Epcot fireworks, but you can go out onto the boardwalk in back of the YC and there are benches all along that you can sit on and get a good view of the fireworks.

My only suggestion on a pool view room, is that the closer you stay, the noisier it will be. During the day, alot of noise from the pool and evenings are not much better. Especially when a convention or pop warner is in town. We tend to shy away from the pool area for the above reasons. We've stayed once at the YC and 3 times at the BC and prefer the beach club, we had a room in the back once and had a fair view of the fireworks, we prefer here because its the shortest walk to EPCOT and we used to pop over for fish and chips and the beaver tails.
