YC concierge room request???

We are staying at the YC concierge water view.

My question is: If we request a room close to the elevator (my DH has a foot injury) will we still get a good view? From the floor map it seems that the clearer views are down the long hallway. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing... Do we make room requests directly to the concierge desk and how soon? Thanks again!

Our room this past December was located conveniently to the elevators and to the concierge lounge. While the view was not a perfect, full frontal view of the BoardWalk, it was a nice view, and the convenient location was terrific. We could see Storm-Along Bay across the way, as well as a bit of the tall World Showcase buildings like the Eiffel Tower. Our room also overlooked the back entrance to the Yacht Club, but we certainly did not mind that. Here is a link to my online photo album so you can see pictures of our room and the view:

Actually, I think the closer to the elevators you are the better view you will have. Our room was all the way the end of the hallway and we overlooked the entrance and a little bit of the gardens.
