Hello,
This was our second and final stay at YC concierge. We seemed to encounter a series of problems during this stay. It began when the elevator key they mailed us wasn't functional. A bellman found a working one and mentioned that the ones sent to guests often don't work. When we got upstairs and mentioned this to the CM she didn't apologize and said it didn't matter . The connecting rooms we were assigned were supposed to be a water view. They overlooked the roof of the building below with a miniscule corner of pool and lake view off to the far right. One of the rooms had a strong smoke smell despite that they were non-smoking rooms. When we complained, we were moved and the CM said she knew about the smoke smell . She had requested maintenance to work on it but it never happened. At least our new rooms had a great view of the lake, closer to lounge and no smoke. We told the concierge pre-planning staff that we were celebrating my 14 year old niece's birthday. Three balloons and a card were left in the room. I must confess I was hoping for something a little more since I had read on the boards that concierge often goes all out for special occasions(i.e. chocolates, small toys and the like). We soon realized our room was quite warm and alas the a.c. had stopped working. Maintenance arrived and had to replace the motor. Finally, at 10:00 p.m. our check-in problems were resolved and we went on to enjoy our room for the remainder of our stay. Next report will be a review of the less then magical lounge food.
