I know there was a thread on here a little while ago, but...

Anyway, I stayed at the YC for a few days this week. They were VERY strict about checking IDs. My first visit a family was standing there trying to track down someone on the phone. They had about 7 people and one half seemed to have wristbands, but they did not have keys for the other room and the girl manning the gate would not let the second half in without proof they were staying there.

Also, I was sitting on the porch talking on my phone when I noticed a couple of folks pull up some chairs. Thier two sons stripped down to swimsuits and went off... 5 minutes later they were back... could not get into the pool without a key which they didn't have. They left and went back to whereever they came from. Mom said something like "well we tried". (Let's not even discuss exactly HOW stupid a parent is to let a young child go swimming while they are not NEAR the pool! I know there are lifeguards, but.......)

They put armbands one EVERYONE and checked IDs as you came in all the gates.

CarolA,

Thanks for the news. I'm glad to hear that they are cracking down.

Do you by chance remember the hours of SAB while you were there??

Thanks,
TheRobbs

Im really glad they are being strict!!! We will be there in a little over a week and I am concerned about crowds at the pool. How did you find the pools?
How about the resteraunts onsite??
Thanks :earsgirl:

Pools weren't too crowded. I did have to take a lounge chair pretty far away Sunday, but it was late when I got there.

Didn't eat at any sit down resturants.

Have no idea what the pool hours were either.

Sorry!

We returned a week ago from YC....SAB hours if I remember correctly were 8 or 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. each night. And I can confirm, they were extremely stricted about checking IDs, they had someone at every gate all day checking resort keys. :flower:

I'm glad they're checking so carefully and inforcing the rules!!! We plan on staying at the YC next trip. Thanks!!! :flower:

What about the pool tubes? Did you have trouble getting them? My dh is going to be irritated if they're all gone by the afternoon...oh, he'll just have to live with it. As long as he can get a beer... :earboy2:

I saw tubes at the rental place both Sunday and Monday afternoon.

Thanks! I had read on the Boards that they often run out early, so I was a little concerned.

My girls are so excited about the pool at YC/BC! I'm so glad they are being strict. Now I hope neither one of them or DH oe I lose our ID's! :earsboy:

We were there from 6/18-24...at BCV. I did see people in the pool without wristbands!! And they were about 8' away from the lifeguard. When we would go to get our wrist bands, the girl told us that not everyone in our party had to have their room key! As long as I had mine we were fine...so much for everyone in your group having one. And there were never any people checking at the entrances if you had bands on. Have to say that I was pretty disappointed that they weren't checking as much as I had hoped for. The pool was pretty crowded by the time we would get there, aroun 2-3 in the afternoon. I think we were lucky to get the chaise spots we did because we only took 1 or 2 seats for our group of 3...any more than that and we wouldn't have found anyplace to sit.

:( WEll I am sad to hear this!!

Well your experience was different then mine. I did see folks in the pool without wrist bands. Some people take them off immediately. The women next to me Sunday took them off as soon as they sat down, but they had them. (They interfered with the tan LOL!) One little boy got hysterical when they tried to put it one him and the girl at the gate just let him in. (Can't blame her there)

I think if you have a "reasonable" number of folks your kids probably don't need thier key card. However, in the incident I mentioned there was WAY more then one room's worth of folks and the girl was not letting them all in without proof they had more then one room.

Over on the far side of the kiddie area there are a TON of lounge chairs. Those were never crowded.

All in all, I thought they did a pretty good job. They also patrolled the area and collected abandoned towels which did not allow folks to reserve a chair all day while they were out at the parks
