I was 5 weeks pregnant when I was told I was having twins.

During my first visit to my OBGYN she did what's called an internal ultrasound and I even have those funky print outs or pics from it.
What you see is basically two circles on the screen which is indicative of two sacs or two babies. (My twins were girls but NOT identical btw)

She told me that one sac was smaller than the other and may not make it. There is something called a Vanishing Twin Syndrome (swear to God check it out if you don't believe me: http://multiples.about.com/cs/medicalissues/a/vanishingtwin.htm )
She said alot of pregnancies start out as multiple pregnancies without the woman even being aware of it.

Because one of mine was smaller to start with, she was concerned that would happen with me. I went back a week later to see how the second one was doing (imagine for a week wondering if you would have twins or not!!!).

Well, in that week's time the second one grew a surprising amount and today I have healthy twin girls as a result of that pregnancy. :)

So, I just had to comment on those who say it's not possible to tell so early on that you are having twins. I knew at 5 weeks.

Now as for everything else that's being said, I am staying out of it!! :rotfl:

I will say that I didn't learn the sex of my twins until a regular old ultrasound at about 6 months. :thumbsup2

Carry on......

Admit it......you're one of her classmates, aren't you?

More Disney references on the names:

Joseph - Princess Diaries
and Lilly was Mia's best friend in the movies.
Just like Tessa's best friend/roomie who owns DVC with her because of a roomer.

(She did sign her name Tessa on one of her posts asking if she should leave 4-8 month Milie with both sets of grandparents for her romantic week with whooping cough Matt Ryan or if she should make it really fair and let her sister have a few days too watching the incredible crawling at 4 months kid.)

No..she's not. She's an early 30's woman, I've met her and can vouch for that. :thumbsup2

Wow, with her mother being only 44, that makes Mommy younger than 14 when she had Tessa.

But then... the babies grow fast in that family, so I guess it is ok :lmao:

OOps...you meant MommaU4.

My bad (that's what teens are saying, right?)

yay me!!!! went to doctors yesterday and found out i am 1 month pregnant with twins. supposed to be girls possibly boys. we are excited. what do you think for names. vote on the poll.

Wait a bouncing minute....I don't have to go further than this very first post... What in the wide world of baby Olympics are the other alternatives??? Is there another gender out there that my doctor never told me about? :rotfl2: What am I missing??? And this is a rhetorical question, people. :rolleyes1

Admit it......you're one of her classmates, aren't you?
:rotfl: Classmates? No. Boring mother of 4 (including the twins)? Yes. But I'd like to have the body of a high schooler again. ;)

Mid 30's now. Remember? I am getting old.

Like I said, I wouldn't touch anything else the OP said with a ten foot pole. :sad2: I just wanted to post my experience with learning of my twins at 5 weeks. :thumbsup2

I was referring to MommaU4...see the comment I quoted.

Oh alright. You're mid. There, are ya happy to join that club??? ;)

Well that was a very entertaining 30 minutes I just spent reading this thread! Thanks for the laughs everyone! :rotfl2:

This is like a train wreck..........I just cant look away. :lmao: :lmao:

BREAKING NEWS:

The OP's twins were born at 10:21 am today. The OP had a lab and a pug. Both stuffed animals are doing well. The sex of the stuffed animals was ambiguous.

Now your really going to confuse her!!! She'll have to go and look up the word ambiguous. :rotfl:

i didn't say he was 100% sure they were twins. a possibility. and i accidently wrote 1 month. it is 2 months. and he doesn;t know for sure just a guess.

Your doctor needs to go back to med school then because he doesn't seem to know anything. And you need to go back to sixth grade to learn how to spell.

Maybe the OP is actually 67 years old, just gave birth to twins and has started suffering from Alzheimers therefore forgets the names of all of her "beaus". :confused3

There is so many things I should be doing, but I just read every post in this 16 page long thread. You guys are hilarious :rotfl2::lmao:
