Well if it's a boy and a girl (possibly), why aren't Sam and Alice a choice?!
I was 5 weeks pregnant when I was told I was having twins.
During my first visit to my OBGYN she did what's called an internal ultrasound and I even have those funky print outs or pics from it.
What you see is basically two circles on the screen which is indicative of two sacs or two babies. (My twins were girls but NOT identical btw)
She told me that one sac was smaller than the other and may not make it. There is something called a Vanishing Twin Syndrome (swear to God check it out if you don't believe me: http://multiples.about.com/cs/medicalissues/a/vanishingtwin.htm )
She said alot of pregnancies start out as multiple pregnancies without the woman even being aware of it.
Because one of mine was smaller to start with, she was concerned that would happen with me. I went back a week later to see how the second one was doing (imagine for a week wondering if you would have twins or not!!!).
Well, in that week's time the second one grew a surprising amount and today I have healthy twin girls as a result of that pregnancy.![]()
So, I just had to comment on those who say it's not possible to tell so early on that you are having twins. I knew at 5 weeks.
Now as for everything else that's being said, I am staying out of it!!![]()
I will say that I didn't learn the sex of my twins until a regular old ultrasound at about 6 months.
Carry on......
BREAKING NEWS:
The OP's twins were born at 10:21 am today. The OP had a lab and a pug. Both stuffed animals are doing well. The sex of the stuffed animals was ambiguous.

Admit it......you're one of her classmates, aren't you?
No..she's not. She's an early 30's woman, I've met her and can vouch for that.![]()

yay me!!!! went to doctors yesterday and found out i am 1 month pregnant with twins. supposed to be girls possibly boys. we are excited. what do you think for names. vote on the poll.
What am I missing??? And this is a rhetorical question, people.

Admit it......you're one of her classmates, aren't you?
Classmates? No. Boring mother of 4 (including the twins)? Yes. But I'd like to have the body of a high schooler again.
Mid 30's now. Remember? I am getting old.No..she's not. She's an early 30's woman, I've met her and can vouch for that.![]()
I just wanted to post my experience with learning of my twins at 5 weeks. Wow, with her mother being only 44, that makes Mommy younger than 14 when she had Tessa.
But then... the babies grow fast in that family, so I guess it is ok
OOps...you meant MommaU4.
My bad (that's what teens are saying, right?)

I was referring to MommaU4...see the comment I quoted.![]()

Like I said, I wouldn't touch anything else the OP said with a ten foot pole.I just wanted to post my experience with learning of my twins at 5 weeks.

Yup - I had already edited my post (see your quote) to say I had made a mistake![]()

i didn't say he was 100% sure they were twins. a possibility. and i accidently wrote 1 month. it is 2 months. and he doesn;t know for sure just a guess.
Now your really going to confuse her!!! She'll have to go and look up the word ambiguous.![]()
