Yes, I know, it's been a while I know many of you have been wondering if I'm ok (I am) and where I have been the last month (can't a guy take a vacation?). The truth isn't all that exciting I've been really busy but I know you still want to know what I've been up to
Costa Rica, Ireland, Italy, London, Paris, Spain, Tuscany, so many places - I'm pretty sure it's gonna take me more than two weeks to see them all.
Well, for starters I've been doing some traveling (the Churro & Turkey Leg combo was such a hit I had to go back to WDW for more!!) and I took a much needed 2-week vacation (let me just say Adventures by Disney are awesome!!!). But in general I've been super busy, and so has the entire team we're all just crazy busy. Now that you know what I've been up to, let's talk about the game and get to the good stuff!!!

Now, I hate to be the bad guy here but I've got to fill you in on changes to our moderation and game policies. As you read over these points, please remember why we're doing this our goal for VMK is to create a safe and fun place for everyone.
Game Moderation Revised
I know you will all be interested is how we're reworking the game moderation. We're always reevaluating the process and now we are making some changes from the ground up. Over the next few weeks you'll start to see changes and adjustments to how we moderate the game.
We're doing this to address changes in the game and provide even better service to our every growing community. Remember, as the game and community change, we're always updating the VMK values to address the changes and evolution of the game. So make sure you review the VMK Values from time to time.
While we're on the topic of moderation let me remind you: sharing ANY sort of messaging address or e-mail address will get you banned from VMK.
Inappropriate language, inappropriate behavior, hacking or use of bugs or programs that modify VMK and any player scams will get you banned from VMK. We're cracking down on these behaviors, they will get you banned from the game - with or without a warning!
Pay to Play, not OK
You spoke and we listened. Based on your feedback VMK will no longer allow players to charge each other to play games, enter rooms or anything else. From now on the moderation team will be issuing bans for any players charging other players to get into a room or play a game.
Just to be clear this is related to player activities, VMK will still be charging game credits to play Pirates and ride the Fantasyland Dark Rides. Additionally, we will not be releasing the Turnstiles that were tested several months ago.
Slide On!
On a lighter side, get ready to dive - uh, I mean "slide" - into summer! Slide on down with our 2nd Annual Slide-A-Thon! The event is running this weekend only Saturday (6/23) and Sunday (6/24). Take a slide and you'll have the chance to win the Blizzard Beach Waterslide Start piece on Saturday and the Typhoon Lagoon Waterslide Start piece on Sunday.
Saturday's prize Blizzard Beach Waterslide Start.
Sunday's prize Typhoon Lagoon Waterslide Start. Remember each time you ride you will win one track piece - you can ride (and win) as much as you like, so ride often! If you can't join us for the Slide-A-Thon this weekend, don't worry - the tracks will be on sale soon.
Nemo & The Case of The Missing Submarine Piece
Sure, the front and back of the Finding Nemo Submarine are pretty cool but what happened to the middle? Well good news, the brand new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Quest at Disneyland will be the exclusive way to get it.
Starting late next week Guests in line for the brand new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland will be given a special Finding VMK Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Quest!
The Finding Nemo Quest - available only at Disneyland's Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
Along with the cool activities, there will also be a card with the Submarine middle. Now like all good things the Quest won't be around forever - so hurry up and get to Disneyland and check out the coolest (and newest) attraction and start Finding Nemo!
Now you can finish building your own yellow submarine.
Guests who have already visited the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage got a preview of the Quest (minus the card) which features a link to the Finding Nemo Virtual Lagoon - there you can find codes for the front and back of the sub. See the Promotions Page for more details.

Did somebody say Churro? I'm buyin'! Visit the Emporium Specials in early July for your chance to pick up one of these beauties and keep checking back here for information on the next addition.

Pirate (in his usual "sour, yet witty" mood) will now grade the Newsletter. Is it the content/quality that we should expect from a month-long hiatus?
My grading scale is from 1-5.
1. He's been traveling. So he's not dead, captured by North Koreans, or fired. I give his excuse. 5
2. Game Moderation. Not too shabby. I don't care either way because I don't engage in the actions in question. 5
3. Pay to Play. Ok, so we're not getting the Epcot Turnstyle. Didn't care too much for it anyway... 3
4. Slide-a-thon. I was going to give this section a good score, as I couldn't clearly give it a fair shake before knowing what the pieces do. Then I was hit with: "don't worry, the pieces will be on sale soon."
I don't do this, and I'm usually a little more respectful and show a bit of tact but...
Yavn, you are a liar. Up and Down Waterslide Pieces? Dreams Items. There are plenty more that you said would come out as for sale but never did. 1
5. Nemo. I wouldn't be surprised if the entirety of DIS gasped with this announcement. It was, in fact, as we feared: it was a Quest prize. My grading scale is from 1-5.
1. He's been traveling. So he's not dead, captured by North Koreans, or fired. I give his excuse. 5
2. Game Moderation. Not too shabby. I don't care either way because I don't engage in the actions in question. 5
3. Pay to Play. Ok, so we're not getting the Epcot Turnstyle. Didn't care too much for it anyway... 3
4. Slide-a-thon. I was going to give this section a good score, as I couldn't clearly give it a fair shake before knowing what the pieces do. Then I was hit with: "don't worry, the pieces will be on sale soon."
I don't do this, and I'm usually a little more respectful and show a bit of tact but...
Yavn, you are a liar. Up and Down Waterslide Pieces? Dreams Items. There are plenty more that you said would come out as for sale but never did. 1
5. Nemo. I wouldn't be surprised if the entirety of DIS gasped with this announcement. It was, in fact, as we feared: it was a Quest prize. I log on to see if anything was being posted about tomorrows ride a-thon and OMG what do I see..YAVN..YAY!! So glad that he is healthy...although I must admit I sure was thinking that maybe that he left us... But am glad he is back!
I couldn't wait to read what he had to say! I am very happy to see that they say they are going clamp down on the things..Lets hope they they do!
The Food cart look pretty COOL!! That will look totally awesome in our rooms! And of coruse it would start with his favorite...lol

LOVE the pin, LOVE the food cart!! I am excited about these!! NOT thrilled about the middle sub piece.

While I agree people might owe him an apology for all that rude bashing I've been seeing, I don't agree that they didn't update his column while he was away. Even a simple, "Yavn's on holiday, he'll be back with news and info when he returns!" would have sufficed.
And the new stuff looks pretty cool.

I downloaded the Nemo game quite a while ago, and I know where the link is on Disney.com.
I guess that's what Yavn is referring to in the update, but I can't seem to find anything that looks like a "Promotions Page" on the VMK site. (I thought there used to be.) Am I missing something?

I think he's just really busy right now. We have no idea on what is happening behind the scenes.
Just be patient and we'll eventually get that newsletter.
While I do agree that even just a little blurb would have been nice, patience is the key to everything.

Happy to hear that Yavn is fine.
I did figure that the Epcot turnstiles would not be released. Especially after the pay to play rule is now in so called effect.
While I do like being able to get new water slide start pieces (redesigned pieces), I would have thought that ups and downs would have been a better idea. Those are much more difficult to get and they are non-tradable. Making them just tradable again would be great. Especially as not everyone can play the game.
I am upset that the Nemo Sub middle pieces will only be available to those that ride the ride in DLR. The subs don't look very good without those middle pieces and now they will be difficult to get.
Because you can't get the middle piece by playing the game, I've only played it once.I love the new snack carts! I wonder if they'll be animated in any way? And when can we get the popcorn cart on Main Street fixed?
I also love the new 4th pin. Although, I'll have to disagree with Pirate. I love last year's pin too! And now we know there will be a new pin, last year's will probably start trading at a higher amount.
I also love the hat! It does look a bit Indiana Jonesish.
But, when you come right down to it, it is just a redesigned cowboy hat. How about a black or red cowboy hat? WDWLIGHTNINGZ

I am a bit disappointed with the Epcot turnstile not being released. Isn't there away you can remove the credit feature from it so we can have it as an alternative turnstile.
