So we are having a yard sale this weekend to raise some funds for our trip next month. I have a bunch of kids stuff to sell but not sure how to price things maybe some of you could help!!
Kids clothing, i was going to put the outfits together, how much would you pay?
Big toddler toys like a ride on dump truck (not powerwheel or battery operated)
Smaller random toys?
Ariel vanity set?
Exersaucers and high chairs?
Disney Halloween costumes?
Shoes?

most everything is name brand, i dont want to charge too much or too little kwim?
TIA to anyone who can help me i really appreciate it!!

My philosophy on yard sale selling is this: you already paid for the item, any $$ you can make back is a bonus. Price to sell - kids clothes at $1, toys for 50 cents same with shoes, larger toys for $5, same with costumes. Anything that doesn't sell, donate to goodwill and get a receipt. Then take that off your taxes at the end of the year.

You might also check your local Craig's List to see how sellers are pricing those items and use that as a starting point. Good luck!

I am currently sitting at my yard sale! I priced my kids clothes at .25-1.00 depending on condition/brand. Most little t-shirts or tank tops are .25, polo style shirts at .50 and jeans and nice pants at 1.00. I have kids coats for $2-$3 and shoes are .50-1.00. Toys are between .25 and $5 depending on what they are and the condition. Most are less than $1 though. People who come to garage sales like to haggle, so if someone thinks it is too much, they will ask you to come down. The funny thing I have seen is that people buy the non name brand clothes before the name brands and I have them priced the same. I guess it just depends on where you live and who shows up to your sale. I still have a table full of Gap, Old Navy, Children's Place and Gymboree stuff sitting out there and have sold a good amount of clothing today, most of it was Wal Mart or Target brand though.
I normally take my items down to my mom's house to sell because she gets good traffic in her neighborhood. I would have already sold most of my stuff had I gone there this time, but didn't want to haul it all there. Whatever I have left I will probably store until she has a sale and try it one more time before I donate it.
Good luck on your sale!

I think in general it is very hard to be able to give advice on something like this because there is such a HUGE disparity between areas. Some people on here post that they just cannot price clothes over 50cents or $1 because no one will even look at them. And then here where I am, you can get several dollars for a complete outfit that is name brand like Gymbo or Hartstrings or Gap Kids, etc...if it's a week when people are looking for clothes. I usually try to sell something 2 or 3 times before donating. Some weeks people are just looking for what you don't have. And some weeks you hit the jackpot. LOL
big toys that are name brand and in very good condition, I would start at $10 and you can always come down. You can always take less if they offer or if someone seems interested but a little unsure, you could always say that you'd take 8 or something like that. Or say make me an offer...
I like the suggestion of maybe checking Craigslist to see how prices are in your area. Do you have any friends/neighbors who have had yard sales that your talk to to see how they did?
Good Luck w/ your yard sale. I hope you sell lots. :goodvibes

I buy alot at yard sales not clothes or toys so much but I have an observation about having people make an offer...unless I am just dying for the item if the seller asks me to make an offer I usually just walk. I just do not like to be put on the spot and like I said unless I just really really want it I walk away.

I rather have a starting point for reference and make an offer on that than just make an offer out of the blue.

bolding is mine...
I guess I wasn't very clear on my other post. LOL. What I was trying to say, but didn't do so well saying was, you could put a price tag of say $10 on the item. And if you see someone that looks kinda interested, you could say to them make me an offer. Maybe they'll offer you $9, maybe $5, but then you can decide if you want to sell it for that price. That's more of what I meant when I said you could tell them to make you an offer. Hope I clarified my statement a little better. :goodvibes
good luck selling lots of stuff and making lots of $$ for WDW. :thumbsup2
