After the kind of up and down season it has been, there have been times when I doubted that this day would happen. I am SO proud of this team!

Now the fight begins for World Championship #27.

I knew the Yankees would make it! I spent 3 hours at the little league fields with my son today and I was sure that I'd seen just about enough baseball, but.......today's Yankees game was too great to miss! Glad I caught the last 4 innings! Now I can get a new Yankees shirt.

You know, fans of every other team out there would be happy to have their owners put their money back INTO the team like George Steinbrenner does instead of putting it in their pockets. So many of the smaller market teams have benefited over the past couple of years from the revenue sharing dollars that come predominantly from the Yankees and the Red Sox. Our owner hasn't done anything remotely against the rules; other teams have the same option and choose not to. The new Angels owner has been very good about this. Congrats to the Halos on their second consecutive division title.

And, by the way, I wish yours Astros well and hope they make the playoffs. Go Andy! (He'll always have a special place in this Yankees' fan's heart.) Not to mention that my oldest son's fifth grade teacher played college ball with Craig Biggio.

With all due respect, most other owners do NOT have the same options as GS & the Yankees. NY is the biggest market. More people, more $$$. The medium & smaller markets lose their best players to clubs like the Yankees who can pay them the big bucks. It's difficult to maintain consistency that way.
