So Sorry...better luck next year....

and just a reminder of what some of you were saying about us Bo Sox fans and our team....

quote:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I see Red Sox fans are still perpetuating that myth. I guess they got Schilling and Faulk on the cheap. How many home grown players do the Sox have? As compared to the Yankees who have Jeter, Williams, Posada and Rivera. Give it a rest. You'll have to look for a new excuse for losing.

So what is the Yankee's excuse....???

I think they just stopped playing. I saw nothing in the last four games that showed they had the drive and determination to win. I don't know what happened, but it was really depressing to watch.

Rather than expecting the Yankee fans to come back here and defend the snippy garbage they posted last week, let me simply quote what their generic new posts will look like:

CHOKE CHOKE ARRRRGH GAG GAG CHOKE GAG ARRRRRRRGH

The Sox caught the breaks this time, had the streaks this time, wanted to win more this time. Every so often it happens.

Hopefully we can bury the hatchet (and the slogan) and have the Yankee fans on our side in the WS, especially if we face Roger Clemens. :p

And yes they are rioting in Boston. Stupid punks...

Now more like:

WHO'S YOUR PAPI?!

That would MVP of the ALCS - David Ortiz.

So NY, how's that A-Rod thing working for you now!?!?!?

Great Post!

WELL, I see that Yankees fans could butt into every thread Bo Sox fans started, with their trash talk, but seems they are reading this by the number of views, but are obviously SPEECHLESS this morning...'bout time....:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I predict some t-shirt seller will now get rich with "Who's Your Daddy NOW?"

Yanks blew it, big time!

I actually saw a very nice thread started by a fellow Yankees Fan congratulating your team and all the fans for such a great series. I've never been nasty...always respected the Sox....lived in New England for many years....and am sad about my beloved Yankees. I actually planned on cheering on Boston during the series. Geesh.

edited to add: The reason the Yankees lost? They did not play great baseball the past three games. They were out-pitched, out-hit and out-motivated. The Sox wanted to win more and showed great courage in the face of adversity. I'm still so sad...but I have to say it is a story on par with the Miracle on Ice during the Olympics. Pure guts and determination. Oh...and a bit of talent from Ortiz and Damon and the rest of the crew can't hurt either!

Next year....Yankees Fans...next year!

Here's a Mets fan's view: the Red Sox were the better team out there the last 4 games, especially last night! Congrats Red Sox! And if you're playing the Astros, I'm rooting for you.....and if you're playing the Cards, I'm rooting for the Cards.

I saw nothing but good natured ribbing on the Bosox Yankees posts. Sure I'm sad we lost but nobody wins 100% of the time (although the Yankees come close). My students were so nice to me today, coming up and hugging me and telling me they are sorry -- even the kids who root for the Red Sox. Some of you who posted here sound like the biggest babies ever, my 7th graders were more mature. And this is after you won? I hate to see what would have happened if you lost.

Kallison......just think back to last year - there was rioting in the streets of Boston. I would hate to imagine what would have happened this year - last year was horrendous. It is a shame that some can't be more mature about it, I think you hit the nail right on the head.

I'm a die hard Yankee fan, but I'll be one of the first to say, Boston out-played, out-pitched and out-hit (with the exception of the one game) the Yankees. You can't be a winner all the time. Things happen and for people to moan and groan about it, just takes away the joy of what the BoSox achieved. I say congratulations to them. Good job. However, they best rest up, 'cause the rest of the road to glory isn't going to be any easier.

Wow! I'm a Yankee fan and I sure didn't "butt into" any Red Sox threads over the past week. Everyone has the right to enjoy and root for whomever they want. However, where's the sportsmanship in this posting? Are you so pathetic and obnoxious that this is appropriate you?

MEMO TO THE NASTY POSTERS HERE: YOU DON'T PLAY FOR THE RED SOX, THEREFORE YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR VICTORY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. CONGRATULATIONS ON PERSONIFYING THE MORONIC FAN.

Erin :D

Red Sox fans have taken lots and lots of ribbing from Yank fans for YEARS.... We've taken it and we still loved our Sox... Now that WE can do some ribbing some Yankees fans can't take it and say we're nasty... so be it!!

Actually I'm specifically referring to this post -- I don't mind the who's your daddy and what happened posts. I'll be the first one to tell a Red Sox joke, I thought it was all in good fun.

Get a haircut Johnny!!

whew! got that outta my system! Johnny Damon was a favorite when he was here in Oakland. I just don't understand the beard & long hair - he didn't look like that when he was here.

I don't think anyone means to be truly nasty- call my PollyAnna... but you have to remember you don't get facial expressions or tone of voice on an internet message board. We are LOOOOONNNNNGGGG suffering Red Sox fans...... we need our moment in the sun!;)

I'd miss the rivalry if it wasn't there- I think it makes rooting for your team more fun!

I thought he looked like he'd had a trim- and I don't mean his toenails!!:faint:

Not being nasty, moronic or anything else, and I can take a ribbing like the next one...but if you take the time to read back through some Red Sox/Yankees threads, SOME Yankee fans were pretty raucous in their riducule and "fun" statements....so sorry you are offended, but it is nice for once to be hailed the champions and not here all the "talk" from Yanks fans....and if stating that I'm to be considered a "moronic fan", that is really nice and good natured then I can take it:D :D

I too can take or tell a good Red Sox joke, but I do enjoy the Sox and all their highs and lows, and its nice to celebrate a high with them.
