Yankee Candles.............

I keep them from one year to the next. I've only had problems with a mixed selection where the scents seemed to mingle, but the separate candles and tarts seem to keep very well. I keep them in a cupboard so they are in the dark (the mingled ones were just kept on a shelf so I don't suppose that helped them at all.)

Thanks! I've been putting off buying them just incase but I can finally get that out the way tomorrow :worship:

I got the Beware sampler in my Halloween exchange and i absolutely love it :lovestruc
Does anyone know why i can buy it though as it is very nearly all gone :sad1:
I can only find one called purr-chouli, is that near enough the same?

I've just finished my baby powder tart (probably my favourites :cloud9:) so it's time for a change - I've gone for starfruit and orange this time.

I love the way you change the tarts really quick, so you can have a nice variety of smells without having to spend loads of money or wait weeks to finish one :goodvibes

I can't wait to start burning my Christmas ones. :santa:

I love Cinnamon Sticks, I know it's not a christmas themed one but it always feels christmassy to me.

I am glad I discovered Yankee Candles through this thread, however, I would have been a lot richer if I hadn't of discovered it.:rotfl: They are so addictive, almost as addictive as Pandora charms.

It makes me laugh that we all share this bit of brain programming for Yankee candles as well as our love for Orlando must be some gene responsible for having these addictions.:)

Thankfully hubbie and eldest son loves them too. The eldest was in York on Saturday and spied a large jar of Gingerbread which he acquired for me plus a couple of other festive scents.

I usually like the fruity ones the best then some of the food ones and stay clear of the floral ones. However, I got a free sample of the lavendar sage one and that smells really nice, like a fresh smell but not how I would imagine it would smell.

I kept thinking the smell was from one of the electricians doing my kitchen, like a fresh clothes smell and nearly said to him a few times what washing powder do you use. Much later on I realised it was my candle and was relieved I hadn't asked him.:rolleyes1

im burning the last of my black rasberry jar, ive melted it down in my tart burners ;)

Do the jars keep their smell when the same wax is being melted on top? IYKWIM
I thought our brain and senses got used to a smell after a certain time? Do you switch between which jar you burn? ie put the lid on one and forget about it for a while. Obviously the jars are quite an investment and I'm not sure I'll get as much enjoyment from them as I do my tarts as I like to switch scents every few days:)

I have just started off a Welcome Christmas tart, it's yummy!

Burning a cinnamon candle tonight -- DH (would you believe) picked up some 'mulling spices' to try when he was at Meadowhall.:)

I'm just glad the tealights are cheap - I seem to be going through 1 tealight every couple of days at the moment.

Luckily, I've got a big bag of 100 that I got from M&S for about £4 when I bought my burner :goodvibes

I admit I haven't read the whole of the thread, but I was wondering what Yankee candles look like, does anyone have some piccies? Also, where might I buy them when we go next summer, and are they expensive? I don't remember coming across them when we went in August and I'm big lover of smellies, especially in the winter, when scented tealights, oils etc lift my mood indoors

Last week I discovered in a garden centre here in the UK some cinnamon (one of my fave smells) flower shapes which you pop over a tealight and they melt into an oil. They were only 85p each, you can only use them once, but they smell lush! :cloud9:

You can buy them over here, yankeedoodle is a good site, you will see what they look like on there.

The largest jars are supposed to be the most fragrant but I like using tart burners and tarts the best.

That's one of the wax tarts, which is what I use all the time.

85p is a good price actually - they're about a £1 where I live.

You may only be able to use one at a time, but it's pretty easy to change them. Just pop the cool tart burner into the freezer and after a few minutes, the old tart should pop right out, ready for you to put a fresh one in :goodvibes

I'm a wax tart lover too, initially burn half the tart then the next evening I add a little more of the left over tart and they tend to last me a few nights with the fragrance being strong enough for me:)

It seems to vary between fragrances - I burnt my baby powder one for a couple of weeks (a couple of hours or so a day) and it still had a faint smell :cloud9:

Oooooo. May I join you please, as a Yankee Candle fan! Loving my cafe au lait jar at the moment -amazing smell. And have just discovered the almond cookie - waiting for delivery.
