Yankee Candles.............

But the big news is that Christmas fragrances are out and there are a bunch of new ones including:
Christmas Cupcake, Christmas Tree, Christmas at the Beach, Mountain Pine, North Pole, Snow Berry and Welcome Christmas...

I am just unpacking our delivery of these and they are YUMMY! I love Welcome Christmas and Sparkling Snow, Christmas Cupcake is also pretty nice, but a bit sweet for me, I think I would get bored of that one pretty quickly.

Ok guys, looking for some help from all you Yankee Candle experts!! My boyfriends mum always has candles going in her house, so I was thinking of getting her some Yankee Candles for Christmas. Can anyone recommend a good "starter kit" of sorts??? I've found a few websites to buy from but would like to get a sort of "gift set" kind of starter pack! As far as I know she doesn't have any Yankee Candles. I just don't know where to start!

I would just make my own gift set up, I think some sites do offer packaging for making a set up.

My definite favourite are the tarts which you can get in all sorts of scents, unless you know the type of scent favoured I would pick a selection and team it up with a Yankee Candle tart burner.

My favourite tart burners are all the mosiac/smashed glass type of burners they look unbelievably pretty.

Tarts are about £1, tart burners like I mentioned between £9 to £14.

You could also buy a small jar of a scent you think she would like. I don't think I would buy the medium or large jars unless you know for sure she likes those scents.

It is an addiction, I cannot get enough of the tarts. :)

I always like to buy a 'newbie' lol a tart burner - that way they can try out lots of different smells before buying a big candle :goodvibes I bought 3 novelty Christmas Tree tart burners last year and they were big hits with everyone. My Dad loved his so much he refused to put it away after Christmas!! In the end I bought him a regular glass tart burner so he would put it away with the rest of the Christmas decs :rotfl2:

ive can't wait to get to the yankee candle store and stock up on some new fragrances :cool1:

Thanks for this, I might actually just make my gift basket after all!

Judging from the replies I probably will be best with a tart burner! Yeah I don't really wanna get Christmas themed ones, just regular ones so they can at least be used  I'll need to decide which tart burner to get, then there's what flavours!! Ahhhh!

I have cinamon and sugar on in the kitchen and cool cotton in the lounge:)
and the gardenia one in the downstairs loo.

I purchased 'egg nog' today and it's so yummy I love it :goodvibes I bought christmas cookie last week and that smells good enough to eat.

I'm loving the new xmas range, I think I may have to light one when I wrap up some pressies :)

Have finally found a Tart Burner I think my boyfriend's mum will like! This is from Yankee Doodle as I know a few of you have recommended them.

I just don't know whether to buy some wax tarts off the site as well! A shop locally to me sells them for around the same price, £1 each, although I know YD have some on offer at 55p or 70p etc. I think I might buy the White Lilac Wax Tart as it's on offer at 55p, and then check out my local store so I can actually smell them 1st before letting them loose on the mother in law, lol.

As well, does anyone have any Promo Codes for Yankee Doodle at the moment?? EDIT: Nvm have just made my 1st purchase :D Decided on just the Tart Burner for now!

Just Candles - who are the largest stockist of YC's in this country have some themed tarts packages for sale at the moment. I only briefly looked at it yesterday but I remember there being a garden package and a Christmas package as well as several others.

My Jack Frosts have just burned out so I am trying to decide what to burn next, I think I will try ginger bread (I can't face using the Christmas ones I have bought just yet!!)

Thanks I'll check this out!! Garden one could be good :D

Silly question from me....

Have already bought tart burner for boyfriend's mum's Christmas present and plan to pick up around 5 tarts for it. If I buy these now will they be ok for Christmas (I'm sure they will)? Is there a particular way I should store them? As I really don't want them losing their scent by the time she gets them and I just wanna get as much Christmas shopping as possible and it's one of the few things I've decided on for someone. Also at some point I plan to get a gift box to put the tart burner and tarts in and wrap it up but not till around the middle of next month probably.

Any help/tips will be greatly appreciated!

I keep them from one year to the next. I've only had problems with a mixed selection where the scents seemed to mingle, but the separate candles and tarts seem to keep very well. I keep them in a cupboard so they are in the dark (the mingled ones were just kept on a shelf so I don't suppose that helped them at all.)

DH was a bit tipsy last night and rather over enthusiasticaly blew out the tealight at the bottom of the tart burner which was burning blueberry scone and I have blue wax all over the place:headache:

I'm going to clean up my tart burner and then burn Mango Peach Salsa, I know this is a popular scent but it's my first time, I'm hoping I like it:)

It won't help you now, but I've bought a candle snuffer that works like a pair of tweezers. I think it's a Colonial Candles (shhhhh!) product.
