Yankee Candles Going Up!!

Their last 2 price hikes severely curtailed my candle buying. I used to stock up monthly. Now I go once or twice a year at most. On my last visit to a YC store, I learned they quit carrying unwrapped votives in the stores, which was what I usually bought.

Any good suggestions for a YC replacement that is more reasonably priced, because I would like to start buying candles again.

I never buy Yankee, I don't think the quality is up to par with candles that are less expensive. If I want to spend that kind of money on a candle I'll buy from Old Virginia Candle Company. Their candles are about the same price as Yankee but they last longer and they have better smelling scents.

She's had a lot of converts to the Woodwick Candle line. Has anyone here tried that? Lauri brought home a Biscotti Woodwick candle that smelled SOOO good!

Those are made by Old Virginia Candle Company. Its their newest line.

We live very near the flagship store. Our local paper just ran an article about the company that bought out Yankee Candle from Michael Kitteredge looking to sell the company. 2 things the article stated were that the company has reported declining second quarter earnings, and that the company had an obligation to consider a sale or other alternatives to return value to shareholders. The company also released a statement saying that it was committed to Western Ma. , which makes me think there may have been discussions about moving the flagship operations. They are a major employer in our area, and having them move would be huge
