Yank needs help planning London trip PLEASE!!

You can also have a look on here for both hotels and B & Bs: http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk/index.html it gives you the prices in GBP£ but worth a look as it is fairly easy to convert it to $. You will also need to put 'Greater London, UK' in the search field. I can't help with the areas I'm afraid as I'm a northerner and don't know London at all but have done various amounts of independant travel over the past 3 years so have started to build up a range of websites. Another hotel site is www.alpharooms.com I know they cover Europe so I think that includes the UK.

Hope these help.

Looking for good value hotel rooms in London can be very dispiriting. In general I don't think the standards in the UK are as high as in the US unless you get up into a very high price bracket. However I'm usually pretty lucky with www.activehotels.com. On there I found an ensuite quad at the Albion house in Camden which was small and had limited facilities but included continental breakfast, was newly decorated, clean and had good transport links. It was available beginning of August for £100 GBP a night. Good luck. Feel free to ask any questions, I'm not a Londoner, although I am a Brit but I do love the place with a passion :-)

Hello to everyone!!

I want to say a big THANK YOU for all the information and support.

After a big meeting with the family we have decided not to travel to London but stay in Spain. Unfortunately the more I researched London the more expensive it became for the 4 of us and the value of our US dollar is really hurting the situation. For the short amout of time we had to devote to London it was not worth the money we would be spending.

I am very sad about this but hoping to plan a trip focusing just on London in the near future.

Again thanks for all. If anyone ever needs information about the Chicago area please let me know.

Have a magical Disney Day!!:):)

I am sure everyone will agree when I say you are most welcome. If it's of any help to you have a look at www.holidaytruths.co.uk and you will reports on spain and help and hints for there too along with hotel reviews.

Hope this helps.

Wendy
