Ok, so I've had the good fortune to eat at pretty much all of the best places in Disney...in a couple of weeks I will be going to Yak & Yeti for the first time! Get me excited! What did you love there? What should I avoid?

Restaurant!! Oh, and it's on my DD's 7th borthday, I already ordered the cake.

i gotta second the sweet & sour chicken w/jasmine rice. the pot stickers and wok-fried green beans are tasty appetizers, too.

I get the honey chicken, DH gets the shrimp and steak which he said was teriffic. all 3 times we have been there it has been FREEZING so bring a jacket!

I had the steak with shrimp and it was amazing, but the best thing was the cheesecake wontons for dessert!

We love love love Y&Y! :goodvibes It's a must do for us :thumbsup2

Favs:
Green bean appetizer
Prawn crisps with peanut sauce appetizer
Fried wonton dessert

Enjoy!

Been to Yak and Yeti once in Oct. 2009 and the food and service was great! There are more choices in the restaurant.

Appetizers -We had the lettuce cups and seared ahi tuna. Both were delicious. I especially liked the lettuce cups but it's a large appetizer for 1 person so you can easily share.

Entrees - The crispy mahi mahi was superb. DW liked the sweet and sour chicken but some reviews express disappointment in "normal chinese food" and suggest ordering something different.

Desserts - The fried wontons were out of this world delicious. A must have!

Drinks - I really liked the Safari Amber Ale - a very nice smooth ale made by Anheuser-Bush exclusively for Disney's Animal Kingdom.

We also love Yak & Yeti.:)

It is our number 1 lunch spot in AK. We will be going back this year.;)

Staff fabulous.
Food delish.
Ambiance wonderful.
Alcohol first rate.:rotfl:

Forgive me for being off topic...:offtopic:...but I love your Dexter pic. Awesome.

Another vote for the steak and shrimp. I loved this so much I couldn't bear to let the leftovers go. I toted around the leftovers in a container all around the park just so I could eat them later that night. We are going back in a few weeks and this is by far the meal I most look forward to.

do they include an appetizer with the meal like ohana does?

O'Hana is served family style... Y&Y has a menu to order from...

If you want an appetizer, you order and pay for it.... so I guess the answer to your question is no!

Wow!! You guys made me really hungry!! I can't wait to get there!! I'm thinking steak & Shrimp for sure..and we have a b'day cake on order, bu tit looks like we'll have to order the dessert wontons anyway!!
Thanks everyone!!

Y&Y was one of my top 3 favorite meals when we went to WDW in December! Loved the pork potstickers and fried wontons. We split the salmon entree, which tasted good but smelled pretty fishy. Despite the stink, the food was great, as was service and cleanliness of the place.

For appetizers we've had the fried green beans, pot stickers, egg rolls, and lettuce cups. All were good, but the lettuce cups were REALLY good. For entrees we've had the duck, steak and shrimp, ribs, and Pho. Again all were good, but the ribs were definitely the best. For desserts we've had the sorbet trio and pineapple wontons. The wontons were the best. In other words everything we've had there we enjoyed.:rotfl: It's a must every trip. Like someone else said though it is freeeeezing in there. It has to be the coldest restaurant in WDW.

I love Yak and Yeti!!!

The egg rolls are hit or miss. But when they hit, boy are they good!

The fried green beans are amazing!

The lettuce cups are yummy.

I think the best entree is without a doubt, the Ribs! They were soooo tender they just feel right off the bone. It's a huge dish too, plenty to share!

I thought the cheese wonton dessert was just ok. But maybe I was too full to enjoy them properly! :rotfl:

Ribs! Fantastic, some of the best I've ever had. HUGE portion.
