We have the DDP and I have narrowed it down to these two restaurants .
I have never eaten at either and I have no idea which to make reservations for. We always have done the quick serve meals in the park. Im looking forward to a good sit down meal. Which would you choose ?

I prefer Yak & Yeti, primarily because it offers traditional table service instead of a buffet. If I wanted Tusker House, I would just book Boma for dinner instead. I view it as a more expansive, better version of Tusker House.

We do Tusker House for lunch and BOMA for the longer, more "event" meal while at AK. BOMA is a wonderfully different dining experience and the AKL is fabulous:worship:we find by making ADRs at resorts a great way to explore the grounds and main buildings:thumbsup2There's various threads on Y&Y reviews for you to consider. We have a favorite local eatery who does that type of cuisine first-rate, so Y&Y isn't our choice. BOMA is our evening meal on July 19th after a day in AK:cool1:

Y&Y is fine, but we prefer Tusker House. Strictly for lunch, though, as the price is better. Lots to choose from. They have a nice carving station, other hot entrees, tons of interesting sides, good salads, lots of tasty desserts...and even sandwich fixin's if you're of a mind. We've enjoyed everything we've eaten there (and we've eaten there twice every trip for the last few years). Service has always been great, too.

We actually prefer Tusker House to Boma - it's probably our favorite buffet at Disney! For our family with a young child, a buffet is more convenient than a more traditional sit-down meal.

I love Yak and Yeti and it's our must do restaurant each trip!

While I haven't been to Tusker House in years, but DH & I ate at Yak & Yeti last Monday and thought it was fantastic. I had the noodle bowl with tofu and DH had a combo shrimp & sirloin dish (they wrapped the sirloin around the tower or rice). We both loved it. I got the wonton dessert and it was fantastic. DH had the chocolate cake (with the ice cream and strawberries from my dessert) and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be going back there!

We love Tusker House.

The decor is really nice and we enjoy the exotic flavors that they use in the food. Their seafood stew is amazing!

I would take a look at the menus and see what would be more interesting to you. Also, see if you'd rather do a buffet (and get to try everything & be on your own timing) or a sit down meal (and take your time)

We tried Y&Y lasy year and loved it but really wanted something different this year. So we are trying Tusker House.:wizard:

Our last trip we had Y&Y and it was really good. The lettuce wraps were so good.

Y & Y was our favorite sit down besides California Grill the last time we spent a week at WDW. Mind you, we stay at a DVC resort and do some cooking as well but we really enjoyed it.

Well it sounds like both are good. I think I will try Tuskers House and then maybe Yak and Yeti next time unless someone posts something that talks me out of it lol.

We ate at Tusker House for breakfast just shortly after they opened it as a TS. We enjoyed it; thought it had a good variety for a breakfast buffet. On our last trip we ate at Yak & Yeti. We loved it! It was the first restaurant the family agreed on for our upcoming trip. It wasn't busy when we ate there and we were seated upstairs in a quiet, cool location. The food was delicious and a nice change from burgers and chicken strips. Our family generally always prefers a table service over buffets. (Although Boma & Tusker House are two of the best buffets at WDW) If you want to rest your tired feet, cool off, relax a little bit and enjoy some good food then I say try Yak & Yeti.

Tusker House is quite good. In my opinion it is the 2nd best buffet in WDW behind Boma. There are quite a few good items to pick from and the prices are reasonable. Great desserts too.

In December, DH and I did Y&Y for lunch and TH for dinner. Y&Y was one of my top 3 meals of the trip, but he preferred TH! lol! I enjoyed the entire meal at Y&Y, but only the meats and desserts at TH.
