I haven't eaten at either but would like to try one of them.. if you had a choice which one would you choose? by looking at their menus, they look totally different. (and I know one is buffet and the other site down).. Just looking for the one with the better food! :thumbsup2
thank you!

No ? Y & Y. We really didn't care for Tusker House. They really didn't offer a lot of food like the other buffets .

I agree..Y&Y is better. NIce looking place and we usually sit at the bar when we're eating.

We just did Yak and Yeti for the first time this trip. We were there on Friday of last week. We really enjoyed the awesome A/C and the change of atmosphere was nice. Great service. You must get the Wok fried green beans. They are out of this world. My mom got the Chili wings as her entree even though it was an appetizer and I got the Honey Chicken. All really good. The chef even came to our table to help find something else to do besides rice since I can't eat it. Will definately do again.

We have done the Tusker House for breakfast and for lunch we didn't care for the food too much to be honest. Very much African flair and my parents weren't really into it. However I do think if you like Boma you will like Tusker House.

I've only been to Tusker during its pre-buffet days. The chicken sandwich and fries were really very good. Both my husband and I agreed. It didn't seem worthy of table service credit though. I have been interested in visiting Yak and Yeti. It seemed like a great menu and place. So, glad to hear that people really like it.

I'm going against popular opinion on this one - Tusker House. I can get Asian food anytime, anywhere. Maybe not as good as that at Y & Y, but it is much harder (at least in the South where I live) to find African food. I like the buffet in this restaurant especially since I can sample lots of different foods that I don't get at home. Samosa? Sure, I'll take two! :lmao: I am also te kind of person who wants to do, see, eat something out of the ordinary while on vacation (Epcot is my favorite park!), so that plays in, also. Do you have time to try both?

I'm with you on this one. We didn't really care of Y&Y at all but we really enjoyed TH. But like you said, we can get great Asian at home but we couldn't get anything remotely close to TH at home (we're in the south too). We also like to eat different things while on vacation...that's part of the fun of getting ot of our regular environment.

Thank you everyone!:thumbsup2 I think I am going to go with Yak and Yeti. We are only spending one day in AK and I think this may be the best bet.. we are going in June for a short trip and are having dinner at Boma.. so that may be close enough to TH.. so I think Y & Y it is! you guys rock!

I don't like Y&Y at all.

We ate at Tusker House back in February and had a big group with very different likes and dislikes and everyone was very happy with the experience.

I also didn't care that much for Yak & Yeti. It's not that the food was bad - it's just what others have posted - that I can get the same thing at home and probably even better. On the other hand, we really like Tusker House and it is a must do on all of our trips. I just ate there three weeks ago and have another adr for my upcoming trip in May.

good choice - ate at both last year - while I thought Tusker buffet was fine, it was not great. Really liked the meal at Y&Y

Tusker House has my money. Yak & Yeti, never again.

Yak n Yeti gets my vote...it's the one restaurant that we have to eat at every single disney trip

Ate at Y&Y twice, first time would rate about 8.5, second time a 7. Will still definitely go back next trip. Recommend the egg rolls and pot stickers as apps, ribs and sweet and sour mahi mahi as mains, and the fried cheese won-tons and chocoate cake (very fudgy) as desert.

I like both but typically prefer Yak & Yeti, likely because it is a traditional table service restaurant rather than a buffet. I enjoy the pace and familiarity of having a server. Buffets usually feel rushed and pressured.

The food is of high quality at both places, in my experience. Tusker House is one of the more creative buffets on property. It earns its reputation as "Boma light." I have tried quite a few dishes off the Yak & Yeti menu and have never been disappointed. My favorite entree is probably the crispy mahi mahi.
