The menu for Yak and Yeti looks delish! Is the food as good as it appears?

Thanks

The first time we went I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. But the food was really good. I had the steak and shrimp skewers....excellent. Oh and the egg rolls are to die for. DBF has something but we can't remember what. He though it was good but not fantastic...but he agreed with me about the egg rolls.

My sister ate there last month and got a chicken dish that she said was basically the chicken nuggets dipped in the sauce (sweet and sour maybe?). Her husband had something grilled that he really liked. She said just to make sure we ordered something that had to be prepared as it was ordered.

To us yes Yak and Yeti is really that good! The fried Green beans, the pot stickers, the steak and shrimp is the BEST, the ribs were my husband's favorite of the whole trip and the desserts are great. The brownie sundae, the sorbets, the fried wonton all GREAT!! Very good TS in our opinion! We have made that a must for each trip! Give it a try you might like it too! :thumbsup2

Yes yak and yeti Is a must for us to. The fried green beans Is worth the trip In It self,I see some one posted about the chicken, being like nuggets well I love nuggets and I love the sweet and sour chicken and the honey chicken there,so maybe my point of view is to bias, but they where far from being nuggets. There soup Is very good to.I like how the sound of the ribs, this Is the third good review Ive hered for the ribs.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Yak and Yeti. It's my husband's favorite and the ONLY place he insists that we go to when we return. He could care less about any of the other places and we've pretty much eaten at all of them.

Living in Montreal, we have a rather large Chinatown with access to lots of chinese, japanese, thai food. We were *severely* dissapointed with the food at Yak and Yeti. Chicken Nuggets in sauce is how I think DW refered to a couple of their supposed oriental chicken dishes. We were a large group ( 15 ) and we were all dissapointed. Nice decor though, fits in with the Asian theme of the area.

We really enjoy Yak 'n' Yeti -- so much in fact that during our Aug. 2009 trip we ate there twice. I think it really depends what you order.

My DS always gets the ribs and they are always fantastic. You've already heard about the fried green beans and the pot stickers -- I also love the ahi tuna appetizer and DH loves the lettuce cups. The seared miso salmon was heavenly, as was the maple tamarind chicken.

We've eaten here twice, just to make sure that our first impressions were correct. They were. We do not like the food here. The first time we ordered the ribs and lo mein and an appetizer of the green beans. The green beans were edible but I've certainly had better. The serving of lo mein was huge enough to feed a dozen people but it was not good. My husband thought the ribs were okay, not great, but I did not like them at all.

The second time we ordered the pho and a chicken salad. The pho was the absolute worst I've ever had; the waiter did not even know how to pronounce it. The chicken salad was about on par with one we could get at McDonalds.

The majority of people seem to like it so I think it depends on the expectations and experiences with good Asian food.

We've eaten 2x's too.....counter service is different from table service keep in mind.

We ate there right after it opened and again this year...a must do for us now.

I was disappointed with our meal Saturday (Teppan Edo), the old Teppanyaki was much better IMO, that one will now be off our list.

Shioxiang Steak & shrimp at Yak & Yeti is to die for!

We ate at Yak and Yet for the first time last week. Our appetizers were all good (lettuce cups and dim sum). For our entrees, my DD loved the ribs, my DH loved the steak and shrimp and I thought the honey chicken was terrible. It wasn't crisy (it is on the menu as "crispy honey chicken"), and I thought it was flavorless. The desserts we all good. We'd try it again.

We ate at Yak and Yeti Fri. Oct.2nd. Had reservations for earlier in the week we had to give up due to schedule changes. Tried for weeks to find any opening here on this date without luck. DH walked in about 11:30 as we were passing and they said "hang on, we can seat you in a few minutes" I was dumbfounded and even more so while we stood a few minutes and waited and they were scheduling people through the day and night!!! Food was just okay. DH had shrimp and steak, said it was good but nothing special. I had Crispy Honey Chicken which was far from crispy and not tasty at all. DS11 had chicken lomein and his plate could have fed all four of us!! Said it was good. DS10 had the ribs. I thought they were good but they weren't what he was expecting. Desserts were good. I had a hard time sharing my mango pie and the brownie sundae was huge and shared by all!!.DH said the wontons were just okay. Overall, this won't make it on our Do Again list but it was okay.

We ate there in June and loved it. We are going back there next trip!

YES, we have eaten at the Y&Y for the past two years we been to DW, we ate there twice when we visited this year. I always get the B&B, and you must try the Dim Sum Platter it is GREAT!!!!!

I LOVED the yak & yeti but I also think of it as being "asian inspired" american food. It is not gourmet asian food by an stretch of the imagination. But it is delicious and fun and beautiful inside. Fried green beans are yum and the desserts are just soo good!
We also could not get reservations even at the 90 day mark at 7 am but the day we were at AK we walked up just to check in the mid-afternoon for a late lunch and the girl said, "it will be a....5 minute wait." and we were like, "um. YES!" I went to the bathroom and when I came back my party was already seated with menus and cold drinks! The service was really excellent. Definitely check it out.

We ate at Yak and Yeti last week and were pleased overall. We shared the pot stickers appetizer and I had the crispy mahi-mahi; it had a great texture and didn't taste fishy at all. The rice and vegetables with it were tasty. My boyfriend ordered the ribs and liked them and the slaw, but felt the fried rice was lacking. We both loved our desserts- the sorbet and the cream cheese wontons. I wouldn't call any of it "authentic", but it was satisfying and the restaurant was lovely and fairly quiet.

Definately not authentic, but way better than something like a PF Changs. (Their casual restaurant, PeiWei is good, but I'm not a fan of the restaurant. Probably because PeiWei is better and less expensive...)

Anyway, like others, the dishes are hit or miss. The steak and shrimp is always good. The ribs are good (I only got a taste). The rest of their entrees are ok. The appetizers are , as are desserts. My dd and I have a new tradition to stop at the bar and get a snack of the green beans. They're better than a mickey bar!

We ate there on our last trip and really enjoyed it. I had been looking at photos of the food in Food Porn and had built myself up so I was worried that we would be disappointed and it turned out to be one of the best meals on the trip. We would defiantly go back again.

It was one of our favorite meals the last time. The beverages they offer are rather delicious as well (cherry limeade was delish). We liked the potstickers and had this amazing noodle dish (its name escapes my memory). It is definitely worth a try.

ok well if your expectations are authentic asian cuisine you might be dissappointed but we loved it. my mum hates take out chinese food and we cook our own asian food at home very often. we both had a salad as our appetizer, i had beef & broccoli and she had a chicken stir fry dish. both were delicious. the rice and stir fry was cooked perfect. the beef and veggies were soft but not mushy and not overseasoned or sauced like some asian type foods. she loved the mango pie and i enjoyed my sorbet sampler. the service we had was some of the best on the trip. since so much food is repeated in disney it was a much needed break and we would go back to AK just to eat there. we could only get an 11 ADR or 2:30. it started to fill shortly after we sat down and we assumed it was ADRs filling up but maybe not.
