These types of things tend to happen on more days than they don't in the current world. Just watch your personal and financial info and be proactive accordingly.

I'd be amazed if there was anyone in the US who hadn't been affected by one of these at this point. Fortunately in most cases it is more a problem for the credit card companies than for individuals.
