How popular is this place? Do I need to make ADR's now (for a march trip) or can I just wing it? I am really flexible with meal times.

It used to be that you could walk into most restaurants at Disney during certain times of the year. But for this time of year I would consider two things. First it will be spring break and second Free Dining. If they have the free dining package going it is almost impossible to get into any of the sit down restaurants. Saying that I would make an ADR for YS just to be on the safe side.

There really is no table service anymore where you can wing it. If a place takes ADRs you can be pretty sure they are all taken any given day. Yachtsman is pretty popular so I would make an ADR to be safe.

I would make ADR's. I called one day after my 180 day mark for our end of May, June trip and Yachtman was almost booked for that day.

Make an ADR. We tried to get a reservation there at the very beginning of our 11 day stay for a Wednesday night and it was booked solid for the entire time we were there.

Nuts. I was hoping to be able to be a bit spontaneous on the trip. Guess not!

I agree with everyone else. You need to make ADR's in advance for any table service restaurant especially now that disney offers the dining plan and the deluxe dining plan. You can expect many places to be full way in advance.

I just made ressies for during Sping Break today. No problems with availability today.

While I agree with everyone else that ADRs probably should be obtained, I can say that my husband and I obtained a same-day ADR for the two of us the day after Thanksgiving last year. Probably dumb luck from someone cancelling, but it was a nice surprise to be able to get in!

You really need to make ADRs. My husband and I went 11/1 to 11/8 and wanted to eat there our arrival night. I called about 2 to 3 months in advance and the only time they had available for 11/1 was after 7:45 pm. This was fine with us and we took it. This was one of my favorite meals of the trip and it was hands down the best service we had.
