This review is from a while ago, but I'm sitting at my desk daydreaming about it and thought, why not post a review?
Went there with my mom. We arrived right at 5pm on a Friday with no PS, having walked from the International Gateway at EPCOT. We hadn't had lunch, and thought, well, why not take a chance? The hostess was skeptical at being able to squeeze us in without a PS, but she checked with a woman who appeared to be her superior, and she took us right in. We were seated at a table in the room surrounded by windows looking out at the pool...very nice.
Our waitress appeared to take our drink order and explain the specials. Mom had a cabernet, I stuck to water. After perusing the menu, we both decided to order the small filet, medium. We split a side of creamed spinach. We both had appetizers: I had oysters rockefeller, and mom had a tomato/buffalo mozzarella salad with balsamic vinegarette.
My oysters were very good, but mom's salad was AMAZING. I think I ate at least half of it. We have tried to replicate it at home with good results, but still not even close to how good it was at YS.
The filets arrived cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were hot and creamy, and the spinach was perfection. I didn't even need my knife for the filet, and I had asked for steak sauce but didn't use it. I am amazed at how much food we ate, as we are not normally big eaters.
I almost passed on dessert, but mom insisted (
). We split an order of the creme brulee. The first one the waitress brought was not cooked all the way through; it was liquid on the bottom. We told the waitress and she brought us another one right away which was perfect. By this time I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to walk back to EPCOT.
Atmosphere was relaxed and not rushed. There were several tables of kids near us, and they were all well-behaved and pleasant. I attributed this to the hour...feed kids early and you get much better results than making them wait! (JMHO, anyway). Both the guests and the waitstaff were pleasant and a good time appeared to be had by all!
All in all, this was our favorite meal of the trip!
