I am going to be in Dinsey in mid-May, staying in the Epcot resort area, and we always dine at Yachtsman Steakhouse and Flying Fish. Does anyone have any insight if either of them will be opened by then?

We have been stalking out information on the yachtsman too. Like a previous poster said, it will most likely not open for your May trip. We don't like shula's as much, but it's still pretty good if you need an alternative steak option in that area!

I've been to Shula's once and unfortunately had an absolutely terrible experience. Assuming both restaurants remain closed we will be eating at Le Cellier and Bluezoo for our nice meals this trip! :)

My sister just went to Shula's last month and had a similar experience. Said it was absolutely inedible. She never takes food back but she did with this. :scared: I was stunned as I have read so many raving reviews! (I have never gone, my area has a wonderful premiere steakhouse and we want something different on vacation.)

My crummy experience was at Bluezoo several years back. When they went they said it was wonderful. My family is giving it another try next month. I had a feeling it was an off night when we went, but with Flying Fish right there it was always a no brainer to book it over Bluezoo.

In my family anything with "fish" in the name is a non-starter.:guilty: We've had some really nice dinners at YS, but it won't be to the level of a high end steakhouse.

Yeah, I heard the rave reviews about Shula's prior to going, and we had nearly inedible food and terrible service! Sorry to hear about the negative experience with Bluezoo. I went there once and found it to be good, not great. Solidly in the middle of the three seafood restaurants in that area; much better than Coral Reef but nowhere near the level of Flying Fish!

We just visited this week and noticed Big River Grille has reopened. Haven’t eaten there but they were packed out. Menu looked good. Hope their success gets the other spots to reopen. Have a great trip.

I am hoping Flying Fish is open in October. It’s been on my bucket list. We ate at Yachtsman several years ago and loved it. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had at Disney, from the food to the service.

I'm hoping flying Fish is open before our October trip.
I suspect they will not open before park attendance increases and BW and BC/YC are near full capacity.

We all know that unofficial blogs can be very hit or miss. And even when the information they have is accurate, the assumptions they make based on that information is often more miss than hit.

With that in mind - I did read an article yesterday (can't remember which blog) indicating that walked by Flying Fish in the last couple of days and noticed that the inside appeared to have been recently cleaned top to bottom and tables/chairs rearranged from where they were recently. Same with ESPN.

No definitive information, but they took that as a good sign that an opening may be on the horizon, as similar changes took place at Big River Grille shortly before it opened.

Take it all with a grain of salt, but if you are looking for reasons to be optimistic, there you go.

Yes, I will take it all with a grain of salt and follow along here. We checkin at BWV 5/2 and Flying Fish is our very favorite spot for dining at WDW. It is our last night dining tradition along with one or 2 other meals there. Very cautiously optimistic!

I'm not optimistic but will keep my fingers crossed that Flying Fish will be open when we go 6/27-7/11. It's our 26th anniversary & we were hoping to eat at Flying Fish as our splurge . Here's hoping.....
