I was just wondering how it is there...were going to be going there next week...my dad and uncle are big steak eaters..
i dont eat steak, but i heard there was chicken there or something..

how did you guys like it there

DH and I have eaten there on our last 2 anniversaries. Both times we had amazing meals. Everything from the bread (with garlic) to dessert was excellent.

I'm going back next week too, with my Mom. She has heard DH and I rave about it so much, this was her must do meal. ;)

heres a stupid question---would i be able to eat off the kids menu (im 21)...i dont eat anything there, but its my uncles bday dinner and they told me i had to come!

Very good place to eat!

I don't think you'll have a problem with choosing something from the kids meal, they are very accomodating.

Jen - DH loves yachtsman and I don't like steak. But sometimes you do things for those you love! There is always something on the menu for vegetarians, and I've almost always gotten chicken of some kind. I've actually ordered off the children's menu at Olivia's at Old Key West (I'm 42!!). It was spaghetti and meatballs - she told me that she'd give me an adult sized portion and charge me a little more. I didn't care - I was in the mood for pasta and they only added about $2 to the kids meal price. It is a nice place to eat and they will bend over BACKWARDS to accomodate you, if you see something close to what you want, they will change it to your tastes. Go and have a good time, you'll like the place.

Thanks Marti--that made me feel so much better!! my dad and uncle are soooo excited to be going there and i have to go...at least i have my kids menu!

We have been to Yachtsman Steakhouse on every trip since they opened. We would not dream of missing it!

We are thinking of eating there in april when we will be there for our 3oth wedding anniversary. Anyone know do you have to dress up to go there ?

i THINK they told me casual attire, but im not sure...id love to know as well since im packing tomorrow!

The only dress rules are no tank tops, no beach wear, no flip flops. I ate there in October a couple of years ago, wore cotton shorts and a jersey top and was fine.

Jen - my DH ordered his appetizer off the kids menu (chicken noodle soup) in Oct. I'm sure there won't be a problem with you getting an entree off that menu.

thanks stephanie and everyone!!!

im looking forward to this now! so jeans are okay.....or black pants? gotta pack tomorrow!

jen,
I don't eat red meat but ds14 does and this is one of his absolute favs. However, I always enjoy the spinach salad there and usually the veggie dish of the day - just ask your server. They also have good soups so I think you will find enough to eat. Sure your family will appreciate you joining them. As for attire . . . we stay at YC 2 or 3 times a year and always have a meal at YSH. I have seen flip flops and shorts to suits and ties. During our early Jan 06 visit I will be wearing black pants and a cashmere sweater - but probably sneaks :sunny:

Have fun!

My DH and I went there for our anniversary in sept..and our son went to the sandcastle club. I have to say, the food was great, but I was not so pleased w/our service. Hubby and I go out to eat quite frequently..and enjoy nice restaurants at WDW, but this wouldn't be one that we go right back to. Sorry...JMHO.. :pug: :pug:

Maybe someday we will give it another try...but the amount of $$ that we spent and the lack of service and how rushed we felt (mind you it was our anniversary, too and we were trying to spend sometime w/out DS). :pug:

Our favorite restaurant, I have never had anything but wonderful service and delicious food. :flower:

We enjoy this restaurant and go there every trip for our "special" dinner. Always great food and great service. However, this last time was not so enjoyable. A young couple was seated next to us with 2 young children - the youngeset crying all of the time. The mother got up 3 times to take her out but the father insisted she sit down, they were eating dinner. Turns out they ordered 1 meal (surf and turf) the wife ait the lobster, dad ate everying else, the kids got nothing and I had a headache for the screaming and crying. Needless to say, it ruined our meal. We were not on the meal plan as we are annual passholders. Perhaps they were and wanted to save credits. This is one of several restaurants where parents should not bring children until they are ready to control their outbursts. But I can't blame it on the kids, I blame it on the idiot parents!!!!

Jen, sorry to hijack your thread, but does anyone know what grade beef Yachtsman's serve?
