Yachtsman or Le Cellier?

Wow, I've always loved Yachtsman and was envious of those who had dined at Le Cellier until tonight. Thanks for making me feel better!!!:santa:

I am considering going to the Yachtsman as a break from Hollywood Studios. Is this some place you can enjoy a nice meal in your "theme park" attire or would we be more comfortable if we were dressed better?

I have done Le cellier and we are going to be trying yaghtsman in May too. can't wait!

Obviously I haven't been to Yachtsman but I am not getting this whole "walk by the meat" concept. The meat is waiting in the hall?

My parents have always described Yachstman as, "it's like taking LeCellier and kicking it up a notch."

When you walk in, there is a glassed in area on the left where you can see them cutting the meat.

Le Cellier is quite good.

Yachtsman is better but costs more..

It has excellent food, ambiance and service...and the price reflects that...

They do have a dress code - can't recall off the top of my head but it's typically no sleeveless, flip flops, shorts, etc. More like sundresses, khakis or dress shorts, etc.

I love them both equally for the reasons and differences stated above. With that said, one huge critism for Le Cellier, is the noise level and the crowded seating. It's definitively not relaxed dining, they herd you in, and rush you out. It's not uncommon to have your soup, appetizer and meal, all at the table at the same time, which I do not like.

Just returned from WDW on Monday (I am preparing my trip report) and we dined at both places. Yachtsman is FAR AND AWAY more superior to Le Cellier. The beef was better quality and the service was much better, just tell the waiter you want to take your time. Le Cellier is so overrated and the staff there is very arrogant as we heard from 3 different staffers that "it is the hardest reservation to get at Disney." Yachtsman does carry a heavier price tag but the restautant has half the amount of children as Le Cellier.

It seems as tho they are just proud to be Canadian and have one of the most renowned restaurants in Disney World. I can only imagine how fun it would be to tell guests all day long that the restaurant is completely booked because I've seen them turn so many people away...it would kind of be like a broken record after a while...

I am pleased to see so much love for YS here:thumbsup2 Le Cellier has such a devout following that YS seems to get short shrift around the boards.

I'd encourage any dedicated carnivore to try both restaurants and judge for yourself.:earsboy:
