I have a reservation for this resteraunt and I was wondering what you guys think of it. Also, how is the $80 steak for 2 served? I am going with my GF and was wondering how they serve 2 people 1 steak... and is there enough steak there to feed 2 people.

I cannot help you with the steak for two question, but I can tell you that YS is my families favorite restaurant. The only problem we encountered was my timing.....we had our meal there on the second day of a ten day trip.....and my family compared every meal to it.

You are probably talking about the chateaubriand..I believe they do that for two there.

A tender cut of meat done medium rare..chateaubriand is more the style in which this cut of meat is done. Sounds like it would be more roast like than steak like (the description makes me think prime rib..only spiced/marianted differently).

We consider the steaks at Yachtsman to be some of the worst we have ever had. And the service was horrible.

chateaubriand kind of looks like a pork tenderloin (it actually is a cut from a cow's tenderloin. It almost always served for two people. While I never had it at Yachtman's Steakhouse, when I was in college one of the restaurant I worked at served it. It was awesome. There has been several questions on this recently, so now my interest has been peaked so will have to try it the next time we go to the mouse house

My husband and I had the chateaubriand at YSH a couple of years ago. Chateaubriand is steak...not like prime rib at all. The version at YSH was very good. I don't remember the details of how we were served but it did come on one large platter...nice arrangement. Our server probably served us from the platter but as I said I can't remember.

We've dined at YSH many times over the years. Service has usually been excellent. The steaks are good although I do think they were better years ago. On the other hand, I'm not a huge steak person anyway so probably not the best judge.

But the chateaubriand was very good.

I can tell you my dh and I love YSH!!!! We eat there every visit. The menu is wonderful and the food is delicious!!!! We have never eaten the chateaubriand but my dh did get the 22 ounce porterhouse and loved it. We first ate there a couple of years ago because it was on the DDP. That is why I love the DDP!
