Alright there expert diners. Which one should I choose for an ADR. I have never ate at either and hoping someone could help me decide.

Yachtman's is enticing just because it gives me an excuse to visit the Yacht Club, which I have been wanting to visit and stay at for some time. Also, my DH is an avid steak eater, and I heard that they have wonderful steak options.

California Grill is enticing because of.... well duh! the view and watching Wishes!:rotfl: But DH does love sushi and cannot seem to find that anywhere else.

We do have an ADR for Narcoossee's, so I know that we will watch Wishes from there.

AHH!! I don't know what to choose! Which has better food, atmosphere, and would keep a 5 year old somewhat entertained? Which would be a better overall experience?

I'd say the Ca Grill..Ask for the Wine Room and you will get a room with only 7 or 8 tables and a view of two different fireworks, although not MK ones..
The flatbreads and sushi are not to be missed, and the fillet is awesome.

They are both wonderful, which, I know, helps you none :)

I tend to choose Yachtsman because my DH is much more of a steak and potatoes guy, and although he enjoyed our meal at CG, the menu was slightly frou-frou for him. At YS, there are about5 things he would order...at CG, there's 1 or 2.

I enjoy both quite a bit, but my service experiances at CG haven't been awesome and I find the space a little loud/crowded..probably because of the appeal of the fireworks.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, but I think we'll stick with YS for now.

There is no question. Yachtsman's is a mediocre, overpriced (unless you are on the DDP/Free Dining) steakhouse, while California Grill is probably the 2nd best restaurant in WDW. I am biased, however, because I am fairly picky about steakhouses and I think all of the WDW ones (even Le Cellier) are not anything special.

We are on the dining plan. So either one we choose is 2 ts. I just want those 2 table services to be used on a restaurant that would be WORTH 2 table services. Get my drift? ;) You guys are of no help :rotfl: I still cannot decide.

YSH will be quieter, but if you want the best food CG should be your choice. I agree with a previous poster that YSH is overpriced for the menu.

CG, the food is great, the view is amazing! Plus you can return that night to watch Wishes from the roof top!

I've been to both and would definitely go to the Cali Grill if I had to chose between the two - there's far more choice than at the YSH. While the steak I had was great at the YSH I actually found the food there to be a bit bland because I like a lot of herbs, spices and vegetables- there are hardly any vegetables except mushrooms, broccoli and potatoes. The Cali Grill is much more varied with a lot of mediterranean foods. For Sushi, have you tried Kimono's at the Swan Hotel? Great Sushi but it's defnintely more of a snack than a meal.

California Grill would be my pick. On our last visit I had the Pork Tenderloin with creamy polenta and it was excellent. We also always start with one of the flatbreads, they are so good. :)

Between the two, I would pick California Grille....Yachtman's leaves me feeling that it was suppose to be a good meal, what happened?? I enjoyed California Grille much better and just one more thought.. I also think Citrico's is far superior than the two of them and recently had a fine meal at Artist Pointe...

Just to confuse you a bit.. ;)

Another vote for CG!! Everything we had was amazing and we love the atmosphere so much, you can't go wrong!!:thumbsup2

I have eaten at both and liked both very much. I would choose CG, because you cannot get a better view of the fireworks.
