Has anyone eaten at the Yach Club Galley? Is it a counter service?

I am reconsidering our Yachstman Steakhouse ADR since we have 3 kids under age 5...

Also...how far are Cape May Cafe (our other option)and Yacht Club Galley from Beaches and Cream where we want to eat dessert?

Any input?

No, Yacht Club Gallley is not a CS restaurant, it's a table service. Sorta like the Kona at the Poly, Concourse at the CR, GF cafe. Upscale coffee shop type. I've heard that the food is pretty good though.

I've eaten breakfast at both Cape May and Yacht Club Galley. I'd say they're roughly equal in distance, but in opposite directions from B&C. Both have great breakfasts. What I especially like at Yacht Club Galley is that they have both a buffet and a sit down breakfast. DH always gets breakfast from the menu while I always go for the buffet.

It is not far at all to walk over from any of the restaurants to the others. BC and YC are attched to each other. I've posted a map below so you can see.

We eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse every trip and always see young kids, so don't think you would be the only folks with little ones there.

We ate breakfast at the Galley on our honeymoon ('03) and it was very good.

On the same trip, we had a ressie for Yachtsman for dinner and when I saw the prices I just couldn't do it (I was new to Disney's "magical" pricing. Now I probably wouldn't even blink). If your family likes seafood, you might like dinner at Cape May Cafe (though I've only had breakfast there).

Please tell me where you were when you got the picture of Peter Pan with your kids. My kids would be sooooo excited to see him! In all of our Disney trips, we have yet to come across Peter Pan. Thanks for the info! :cool1:

There are a number of good places to eat in the Epcot resort area. They are all within easy walking distance of each other. I suggest you go over to allearsnet.com....dining....menus for the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin.

We had dinner at the Yacht Club Galley in December. The food was really good! Eating there was a last minute decision and I was actually kind of surprised at how much we all enjoyed our meals since I hadn't really heard much about the restaurant.

IMHO the Galley would be a better choice considering your kids ages. It's casual, family friendly dining. It's actually right next to the Steakhouse, and they are both a minute or two walk to B&C. Keep in mind that tables at B&C can be hard to come by, and the Galley has some incredible desserts!

We've had dinner there and the service was good and CMs very nice and accomodating. I thought my meal was so-so, but my husband enjoyed his very much.

My friends took their then 2- & 4-yo there for dinner in May 2004. She was glad they slept in the carriage the entire time. She said it was very expensive and would have been a bummer for the kids to waste their meal.

I'm sure others have already answered this question for you -- it is very very close.
We like B&C a lot. The food is mediocre, but the desserts and atmosphere are what keeps us coming back. It's one of our favorites!

We had stayed at the YC 10 times before our trip last week and never eaten at the YC Galley. So, our first night there, I did not try to make ADRs until the last minute and could not get anything, so we went down to the Galley. I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered a roast chicken with vegetables and mashed potatos that had some kind of cheese in them. It was fabulous! I will definitely go there again on a future trip.

We haven't eaten at the Galley but recently when I cancelled a reservation I had made there (due to logistics, not because we changed our mind) the cm was so disappointed, she said that Galley is excellent and she had her wedding dinner there.
