I know that the rooms at YC were recently renovated, but can anyone tell me if the fifth floor and concierge lounge was also recently renovated?

Also, if anyone has any YC concierge experiences, good or bad, please post them. Thanks in advance!:D

Bump.

Please, hasn't anybody had an experience to share? I'd like to even know about the negatives, because being prepared is a good thing!:D Thank you!:D

Sorry - I've never done YC, but i think there are some comments about it at www.wdwig.com. Have you looked there?

I know others here have spoken of it. Can anyone enlighten wdwfan?

Recently came back from the YC COncierge and it was wonderful. The staff is so friendly and the food selection is good. There was lots to choose from.
We stayed just down the hall from the lounge and our room was in perfect shape. Nothing seemed old - as a matter a fact it seemed rather new.
Anything else, I can answer. let me know.
RENEE :)

yes, they did renovate the concierge lounge when the did the rooms over at the YC.
there are more tables now and the focal point is no longer an armoire w/TV. the deor is evenmore lovely, and the food set up more efficient.

I stayed there last August, and while it wasn't a bad stay, it wasn't as magicla as I would have hoped for.

I think my biggest gripe was this:

The power went off while I was there. I was in the shower and then there was no light. It was frightening to be in a completely dark bathroom with no light.

I'm not blaming the power outage on the concierge staff. But I don't think they handled it well at all.

After feeling my way out of the tub and finding a towel to dry off, I wrapped up in a robe and tried to call the concierge desk. No phone service. So I put on some clothes and walked down to the desk. I was told the power was out, they didn't know if or when it was coming back on. They seemed exasperated and let me know it in their manner. Now I don't care if I was the 80th guest to ask, but the attitude I got from them was inappropriate.

Also I didn't much care for the lounge. It was a bit formal. I prefer something like the AKL where there are some comfortable seats and a few tables. It seemed like most of the seating at the YC lounge was formal chairs at tables. It just wasn't inviting to me. I do like that they have a dress code for their lounge. I do'nt like that you ahve to ask for soda and water.

Would I stay there again? Probably not. Was it a terrible experience? No, it was OK, but not up to the level of other WDW concierge floors.

Thank you everyone for your posts!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D

I am excited to try it out. Looks like I will have to ask a lot for soda and water because I have two young children who are always thirsty. I am really looking forward to our stay as you can see!:bounce:

Thanks again:D
