YACHT CLUB/CLUB LEVEL Review

I like how you factored "consistency" into your criteria. I have to agree with your ranking WL first. Some changes are taking place at WL (structural and management) and I just hope that high level of consistency remains.

I hope so too

So is Poly/KKC on your post-Poly rehab bucket list?

We've visited the Poly several times in the past and just wasn't "wowed" by the place (We've been to Hawaii a couple of times). It is the only Deluxe that we haven't stayed at yet so Yes, we'll need to give it an official try.

I had the same experience (crowded Lounge, messy hallways, etc.) at YC CL the last 2 times we stayed, Oct & Dec. The first time I thought it was just a bad experience so I gave it a second try, same experience. The Grand Floridian and Polynesian Club Levels were so much better. Have never tried WL CL. Will try that sometime soon.

Thanks for posting about your experiences at YC-CL, Karen. Our YC-CL stays were 4 years apart, yet the experience was nearly identical. Are you going to return to Poly/KKC after the resort rehab?

Sorry to bring this back KOOK but I sure do hope the YC is improved in 10 days! We have only stayed @ Poly, GF SL, and WL previously and especially love the Poly and WL setups. We thought the small lounge could be an issue but wanted to try 3 nights at the YC for F&W then we transfer to the GF RPC for 5 more. Hoping for the best!!!

We'll be checking in to the YC CL on Sunday and will be more than happy to report our experience :).

The only bad thing about a stay at GF RPC is that nothing at WDW will ever be as good.:)

No problem at all with the bumping. I hope you'll post back here and let us know if your stay was similar or dis-similar from our experience - we're 2 for 2:upsidedow. You're ending on a high note with RPC. Maybe we'll see an RPC review on the GF thread? The new thread was just posted.

Looking forward to it:thumbsup2

Sounds like it's your favorite Club Level? How do you like the new room décor? I prefer it over the bedspreads and flowers, but I know some miss the old theming.

Looking forward to it:thumbsup2

Really looking forward to our first stay at CR CL on Saturday too and just hoping that we don't end up loving it so much that we won't want to move :upsidedow.

It's very easy to cancel a split stay and remain at your first resort the entire time. It's also easy to check-out sooner from a resort you don't like. As long as there's availability, the Atrium Club CMs can check for you and extend your stay if you'd rather not move. Been there done that, several times:rolleyes1

I haven't stayed GF RPC in a couple of years. The room decor was nothing special to me before and I haven't seen the new decor yet. Hopefully I will though in the Spring.

Hope you had a great first day at the YC! :boat:

I sure will update this thread with my experience. I'm sure you'll see me over at the GF thread soon as well...and then the WL again after that! :yay:

I have to admit that I was super nervous about staying at the YC CL after reading so many negative reviews but am so glad we didn't switch.

We checked in yesterday & arrived around 11:00am. Right from the get go we found all the CM's to be wonderful. One of them, Marie, introduced herself and told us that she was so looking a forward to meeting us after she had helped me secure a beer pairing luncheon at Epcot about 2 weeks earlier...I thought that was nice.

Once our room was ready, we realized we'd been given an upgrade to a pool/lagoon view, King Bed from a garden view :). Our room was spotless and in good shape and the view? Yup, Amazing!!

Lounge offerings have been great and plentiful (I'd even give this CL lounge an edge over CR's offerings)...we found the offerings on the 14th floor at CR to be lacking, but that's pretty much the only negative thing we experienced at CR as our stay there was amazing! Back to YC CL lounge...we haven't any any issues requesting beers at any time of the day and were even encouraged to ask for them whenever we wanted one. We've asked for some to tAke back to our room with no issues and haven't felt "monitored" at all. As for the CM's serving the alcohol? That hasn't bothered us at all. Last night, we were heading out to the Boardwalk and DH asked for Kailua on the rocks to go and the CM happily poured him quite the glass full in a styrofoam cup :).

I feel bad for anyone who received not so great service but we have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Everything has been amazing and I'll be sad to leave in a few days!!!

That's awesome that your stay has been great so far! Congrats on the upgrade I can imagine how exciting that must have been! I'm glad to hear that the alcohol serving wasn't an issue for you and the lounge offerings have been enjoyable. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Thank you for following up with us. I hope the rest of your stay is just as great as your first day was. Just curious, how are the hallways?

Hi MommyRosa2!
I'm so glad you've had an experience similar to the one we had in August! I haven't gotten around to writing a review, but it will be 5-star all the way!

Thank you for following up with us. I hope the rest of your stay is just as great as your first day was. Just curious, how are the hallways?

Hallways were immaculate and easy to navigate in August.

The hallways have been clean. Our first morning, we did see where a couple of guests left their dishes on the floor outside their room but by the time we returned from the parks (right around noonish), all was cleared. I do have to say that I truly don't understand why guests do that to begin with...it's not like there isn't anywhere in the room a person could leave it. And if it bothers them to have it in their room, they could call housekeeping to come get it.

Traditionally that's what "they" have always told people in hotels to do, put the room service stuff outside when they're done. If housekeeping isn't until the next morning and they order lunch or dinner, people usually don't want leftover smelly foodstuffs in their room. Plus the housekeeping karts might get overrun if they had to do all the room service pick ups as well.
I think the one time we ordered room service at WDW (at the BWV), they said we could leave it outside or call for a pickup. So we did call and they said to just leave it outside when we called, but then we heard them get it soon after. That was a good thing!

Not to beat a dead horse/TR, but, in our experiences staying on the 5th floor, the problem wasn't room service dishes, but CL lounge dishes. There were some room service dishes, but the vast majority were CL lounge dishes. We couldn't figure out why guests weren't returning their used CL lounge dishes or at a minimum, leaving them in their room. The hallway was especially full of dirty dishes (and dirty laundry bags) in the morning and after 5. This is a real challenge for housekeeping so a dedicated "hallway dish runner" might be beneficial and a lounge with more seating might help to keep more guests in the lounge.

Kook...This is exactly what I was referring to when I said I didn't understand why folks would leave their stuff outside their doors. It wasn't room service dishes that we've seen but rather dishes from the club lounge. BUT like I mentioned earlier, it appears that by the time housekeeping comes thru in the morning stuff has been cleared. Maybe they've had enough complaints and are working on it :).
