Hello

I have read a few reviews saying that the concierge service at these two resorts is not as good as at many of the other disney deluxes.

If you have stayed concierge at Yacht or Beach (or both!) what did you think?

How does the concierge offerings & lounge compare to other resorts?

Are there any websites with photo's of the concierge lounge at either resort?

Is one of them 'better' than the other?

Thanks for any input in advance! :sunny:

We stayed at the YC Concierge on our honeymoon last June. The service was excellent IMO. The staff was super nice, helpful, especially Betty and Teresa..
They remembered all my favorite snacks (and left somein the room for us). always said hi and wanted to know about our day and if they could make ressies for us.

Food selection was good- basic continental breakfast, during the day snacks, crackers, cheese, hummus, fruit, cookies, etc. Don'treally remember anything else, as we stay concierge for the service and special attention and the yummy oatmeal raisan cookies! :)

We would go back to YC in a second.
On another trip, we also stayed BC which cast members didn't interact with us as much, but nonetheless were still very nice.
ENJOY!!!

Not sure what "service" you are talking about. We are staying at BC in late August. I can tell you from personal experience that the concierge staff at the planning office (IPO) has been wonderful. The same staff works for guests at Beach/Yacht & Boardwalk Inn.

They have been wonderful, helping me to plan our PS and some special treats. We have had to make changes several times, and the staff responded within a short time (same day, always) and confirmed our changes. Concierge is sooo much more than the food offerings.

Now admittedly we have not been there yet, but I don't see any reason why things on property should be any different.

I have heard that other lounges have impressive views, in terms of views of fireworks shows, or some special landmarks.
I believe the Yatch& Beach clubs get their evening offerings from the restaurants at these resorts (Yacht galley, Cape May, Yachtsman, Hurricane Hanna) and that there is usually one hot item per evening.

For some pictures, see these:

These pictures show the concierge lounge and some of the food offerings.

These pictures were taken by and are the property of BambiTamby from the DIS Boards. I hope she does not mind that I posted this link. ;)

I have stayed at both the YC and BC concierge and found them nice enough. I was pleased and would have returned, but I stayed at the BWI concierge my next trip and WOW! It was such an amazing difference in how I was treated by the cast members in the Innkeeper's Club. My last 4 trips have been there and I am returning in October. I feel like I am at home while I am there. the cast are genuinly interested in your plans for the day, dropped everything to help you make new plans and then asked how things were. They treated all guests with the same outgoing enthusiasm, even bending down to talk to young children on their level. The IPO office is shared by all 3 Epcot area resorts and they are fantastic!

Yup, those are the pics from our last BC and YC CL stays!

I don't mind, GoofyJoofy!:teeth: :wave2:

I'll be at the BC CL in a couple of days and will have a better camera and get ALOT of pictures and more CL food offerings information.

But, as stated by others, concierge is much more than a meal plan. The service factor is very important to "make or break" a good CL.
BWI/YC/BC CLs are excellent in customer service, as well as AKL CL.

We stayed at the BC CL in May. We had a great time. The IPO was wonderful! And Theresa was great. My Ds loved seeing Art in the lounge. I don't know why they got such bad reviews. Everyone was great to us.

I posted this the other day about our experience with YC concierge:

We had an amazing experience with the YC concierge.

We loved the lounge. Did not feel like fast food (breakfast perhaps, but we loved that we got coffee on the go!). In the afternoon and evening, we enjoyed hummus, cheeses, crudite, etc. with wine. In the evening - Bailey's or Kaluha with cheesecakes! It was lovely! When we were there, there was hardly anyone in the lounge, so we enjoyed some privacy and quiet, and everyone who was ever in there was on their best mannors.

The CM were great too. Assisting with changes in reservations, etc. One is particular - Sammy - was great. We had seen La Nouba our second to last night. On our last night we were in the lounge, and they were playing the soundtrack. We were thinking to ourselves that we wished we would have gotten the soundtrack. We asked Sammy if there was anywhere we could buy it in the area, as we did not have time to go back to DTD. He said no, but would see what he could do. We left then for dinner. When we returned an hour and a half later - a brand new cd from La Nouba was sitting in our room! Incredible!!

DH and I both got the warm fuzzies there!! And we're looking forward to returning!!

ReneeDisney - We were there for our HM last June too, and are also from NYC!! :)
