Y&Y, Tusker House or Boma?

Well we have all our ADR's booked but I've been thinking about one night. AK has EMH but we were going to just head back to the CSR for dinner at the Maya Grill. I was thinking perhaps it would be a better idea to either stay in the park and go to Yak and Yeti or Tusker House, or go to the AKL for dinner at Boma and come back to enjoy as much of the EMH evening as we can.

Which one would you recommend? I've been thinking that Boma might be nice considering the food and it would be nice to see the lodge.

Boma is my all time favorite. I think you will enjoy it. The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. You could walk around a bit and see the animals before or after your meal.

Y & Y get's my vote!

The food is good ( although the menu is a bit limited ) the drinks are yummy! And I like it because it's in the theme park.

We liked Boma, although more for breakfast than dinner. Check out the transportation though. I believe you'll need to ride the bus from AK as it's too far to walk. I could be wrong on that though.....

You will definately have to drive or take the bus from AK to AKL to eat at Boma's. We have eaten at BOMA's twice & enjoyed it very much, plus it's nice to see the AKL if you haven't stayed there.

But IMO if you're using WDW buses it's just more convenient to stay in AK for your meal. Going to AKL is different than leaving MK & riding the monorail over to one of the 3 monorail resorts. However it's doable & worth it if you have the time.

We tried Tusker House & really liked it. Some would argue BOMA's is far better, I think Tusker House is still a really good alternative if you prefer to stay in the AK park. In fact, DH liked it so much that was where he requested we eat when we'll be at AK next month :thumbsup2

Have not eaten at Y&Y but see many posts of those who love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any. They are all nicely themed for a day at AK ;)

Everyone's tastes are different, but for as much as we LOVE AKL, we will NEVER to do Boma again. We really don't think it's much different than any other buffet, and I just think the buffets aren't nearly as good as just about any other TS. We've tried it 3x in 6 years because we so love AKL (though we don't stay there!) but it's just not worth the bad food. Again, everyone is different, and the lodge is great, but I just don't think it's worth it.

We've done Yak and Yeti CS and it's GREAT so maybe try that? Good luck!

Boma is really good, but it takes awhile and you will need to take a bus to/from AK to AKL. You will also want to walk around AKL as it is amazing! That will kill about 2 hours so you won't have much time left over the parks. Tusker House is very similar to Boma, it was Boma-Lite. I've been to both places quite a few times and I've never been disappointed.

We love Boma, we do it every trip, though I agree with everyone else - it takes a while to get there. You definitely need to take a bus to the AKL, unless you're of course, staying there. We also love Tusker House, almost as much as Boma, but we thought there was more variety at Boma. I can't speak about Y&Y since I haven't dined there yet, but I know it's also a popular choice.
