Someone please tell me why does Mrs. C believe in Kevin like she does or is she planning something? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Someone please tell me why does Mrs. C believe in Kevin like she does or is she planning something? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I have to be honest. Mrs. C and her love for Kevin bugs me. But, I will say, she's more of a mother to Kevin then Gloria is!

When the week begins, Sharon apologizes to Nick for arguing with him over the plaque that Phyllis gave him honoring Faith's memory. Later, Adam invites himself over and Sharon is stressed because she wants to take their relationship slowly. When Sharon steps out of the room, he reads the e-mail that Sharon sent Nick... and he pretends to be her by asking him to come over so he can catch the two of them together.

That's when things get steamy. "Adam isn't pushing her into doing anything she doesn't want to do," clarifies Michael Muhney. "Every step along the way, he's not being manipulative and is being very respectful of her time, attention, space and the pace that they take things. He really means it and is letting her drive the relationship as much as he is."

When Nick shows up, he's stunned and horrified to see Adam and Sharon having sex. Adam and Nick get into it when Nick accuses him of manipulating Sharon. "Nick can never ruin anything between Adam and Sharon," says Muhney. "As far as Adam is concerned, he's not going to let it rain on his parade and his time with Sharon."

"Nick doesn't like the idea of Sharon with anyone else and certainly not Adam," explains Joshua Morrow. "To catch them in that situation is pretty painful for Nick. It's confusing and upsetting and pretty much every negative emotion you can have."

Adam is happy to see Nick so irate. "It's the icing on the cake," chuckles Muhney. "It's like when you open a cereal box and you find a nice surprise inside. He loves being with Sharon, but it bothering Nick is just a bonus for him."

Nick storms out and Sharon rushes after him, but Adam tries to stop her. When Sharon and Nick are alone, they have a little talk. "Nick is like, 'What the hell are you doing? It's ridiculous. This guy is an evil loser and you have no business being with him,'" explains Morrow. "Sharon comes to Adam's defense. She's trying to justify this relationship."

Later, at Newman Enterprises, Adam receives a phone call from Sharon as he's dropping off a file for Nick. He purposely takes the call in front of Nick "to get under his skin." Explains Morrow, "Adam starts playing the relationship card in Nick's face because he knows how much it bothers him."

After the phone call, Nick and Adam have it out again over Sharon. "Adam reminds Nick that he is married and [Adam] can give Sharon what he can't," explains Muhney. "He lets him know exactly how it is!"

"Adam's clearly doing everything he can to get Nick to unhinge," says Morrow. "He knows Nick is a hothead. Adam keeps messing with him until Nick finally socks him in the face. Nick's been wanting to punch this dude since he strolled into town, so it feels good."

Does this mean Adam is going to be plotting revenge against Nick? "Adam's not a fool enough to let something like this go without some kind of punishment," explains Morrow. "Nick's not sure what Adam's going to do, but it's going to be something and it's going to be bad."

So what exactly is up Adam's sleeve? "Adam is not afraid of him," teases Muhney. "He's not going to let Nick interfere

Meet Y&R's New Malcolm!

"This is the best job I ever had!" proclaims Darius McCrary about being hired as Y&R's newest Malcolm Winters.

The actor, best known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the popular 90's sitcom "Family Matters," explains that his first foray into daytime has been "a wonderful journey."

Explains McCrary, "My manager told me that they were bringing back the role of Malcolm and asked if that would be something I would be interested in. I was like, 'Who the hell is Malcolm?' And she said, 'Oh, sorry. Malcolm is a character on YOUNG AND RESTLESS.' She broke it down for me and I said, 'Oh sure. I'll give it a try.' It was honestly one of the best auditions I ever had during all my years in show business. I read for Maria Bell and Paul Rauch and they made me feel very comfortable, so I was really able to do my work in front of them without pressure."

The actor explains that he was called back at a later date and tested again. He wasn't sure if he had gotten the part because he didn't hear from Y&R for several days. "Then my manager called me and said, 'May I speak to Malcolm?'" recalls McCrary. "I was incredibly happy."

As for his Family Matters co-star Bryton McClure (Devon, Y&R), McCrary explains that he never told him he was testing for Y&R. "I never told Bryton I was up for this role," says McCrary. "I wanted it to be a surprise. After I got the part, I came in for a meet and greet and he saw me while he was running scenes. He ran over and I hugged him for five minutes. It was like a family reunion."

McCrary says that he knows both Kristoff St. John and Shemar Moore. He often jokes with Shemar about "getting to Halle Berry first" and now he's going to "give him crap about getting to Y&R first as well." McCrary knows that he has large shoes to fill but he proudly boasts, "I wear size 14 (sneakers)."

As for the show itself, McCrary is proud to be working on the legacy drama. "This show has touched generations. I'm just getting started and there's so much to do. I'm having so much fun every day that I don't want to leave the stage. I'm mad I wasn't doing this 10 years ago!"

Billy steps up his plot against the Newmans!

The week gets off to a stressful start for Billy when he runs into Cane at the coffee house and they quabble over the surrogacy. Billy lets Cane have it. Explains Billy Miller, "He spells it out: 'You're an ******* for trying to get my girlfriend to be the mother of your child.' It's a horrible thing to do. I kind of agree with Billy on this. But Cane doesn't see anything wrong with this. He thinks it's Mac's body, and she should be able to do what she wants with it."

Billy is having a hard time dealing with the breakup and the fact that Mac is going to carry Cane and Lily's child. Things get even more dramatic when Mac finds out that Billy slept with Kelly. "Of course, Billy still loves Mac," explains Billy Miller. "But they're broken up. And out of all the people whose baby she wants to carry, it's Cane's. Billy doesn't understand it at all."

Later, at Restless Style, a "tainted juror" approaches Billy with details on Victoria's testimony from Daniel's murder case. Explains Miller, "The woman wants to sell Billy information about what was said and what was done in the closed hearing. Billy gives her the money and she gives him information on Victoria's testimony. It validates Victoria's guilt over her affair with Deacon. Now Billy knows exactly what happened."

Billy eagerly listens to the whole story because he wants to see if he can publish any of this information in the magazine. "Billy is angry at Victoria for giving Colleen such a hard time before her death," explains Miller. "Plus, Victoria is a Newman and he still blames that whole family for Colleen dying."

So... will Billy go through with using the information? "He paid the juror," explains Miller. "He's going to run with it."

i have to agree with cane on that one - Mac was the one who offered to do it - cane didn't seek her out and beg her to do it - she volunteered because she's friends with Lilly and wants to help out - i don't see a problem with it.

billy does because it's cane but if it was for someone else - would he have the same problem? prob not.

it's billy hard on hate for cane that is the issue not that mac wants to help someone have a child.

*****

did you guys notice the look on mac's face when michael was going over the legal stuff (or have you not seen that show yet - i'm all lost) i have a gut feeling that she will get pregnant and either she will become attached to the baby and not want to give it up OR it will turn out that she got pg with billy last week and didn't know it so then who would have the right to the baby???? and there will be a fight over it becasue she signed an agreement to hand over the baby

I agree Kurby!

Have you seen the movie "Baby Mama?" A woman hires a surrogate, but the surrogate isnt pregnant with her baby, she's pregnant with her own. That's what I think will happen here. Mac will have sex with Billy get pregnant and for the entire pregnancy, the viewers will not know who the parents are

:wave2: Hi there! This is the first time I have posted on this thread. I have been watching Y&R since 1993, and I just have to vent that the past several months of this show have been terrible! I can't remember when the show has been so bad week after week. Is it just me?
I DVR the show every day, but there are many episodes I just read what that day's show is about and just hit DELETE without even watching.
Other episodes I find myself fast-forwarding through entire story lines I just could care less about (the Deacon/Daniel/Kevin thing and the Patty/Paul/Emily thing for example).
To be fair - I think the Lily/Cane storyline has been good, along with Billy/Mac and Sharon/Nick/Phyllis storylines.
Does anyone else feel this way or am I too harsh? Have I outgrown soaps? :rolleyes1

:welcome: to the DIS Y&R thread, BigEeyore!!!

You will find allot of us agree with you. We are all long time viewers and we do feel the writing has gone down hill for awhile. We are all "ff" through allot of the show AND I am for the first time not even watching it for days at a time. I love this show and have watched it since 1988. I think the economy is playing a huge role in why Y&R is lacking. Letting actors go, putting them on recurring status, or getting new lesser experienced writers for the show who come up with some of the stupidest s/l's. :headache: My problem is I am addicted. I have gone over to As The World Turns and I still watch my beloved "30 minute" The Bold & The Beautiful. :happytv:

Now back to the show.....so I am reading Honny's post about Adam and sneaking on to Sharon's computer and emailing Nick.....so the writers have decided to continue to make Adam a JERK. I thought maybe he grew a conscience after the whole baby switching debacle with Sharon and Ashley.....but I guess I am wrong about that.....:headache:

Thanks again, to HonnyDipp  and december  for their continued support of Y&R and keeping us all in the loop as to what exactly is going on over there in GENOA CITY!!! :goodvibes

Is Kimberlin Brown returning to The Young and the Restless?

by Dan J Kroll

Could it be that Sheila Carter will once again be causing trouble for the residents of Genoa City? No one's speaking on the record, but soapcentral.com has been hearing rumors that Kimberlin Brown could very well be ringing in the New Year on The Young and the Restless. Brown debuted on Y&R in 1992.

Though unconfirmed by the network, soapcentral.com has learned that Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter) could soon be returning to daytime television -- on The Young and the Restless. The news comes just a few months after the actress was rumored to be returning to Y&R's sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful.

At the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic event in Raleigh, North Carolina in August, Brown told the CBS affiliate WRAL that she had been contacted by The Bold and the Beautiful about a possible return.

"I actually got a call from [B&B head writer and executive producer] Brad Bell a while back asking if I 'd be interested in coming back, and I said, 'Sure!'" Brown revealed. "The thing with daytime is that the storylines are [written] so far in advance, you just never know when [you might be needed.]"

As for where her alter ego might be hiding out, Brown stepped into character for a humorous response.

"I am still getting healthy from my car accident," Brown smiled. "Right now, Sheila is hiding out in North Carolina -- playing golf. But don't worry: Sheila always comes back!"

It's been nearly four years since Brown last stepped into the role of the evil Sheila Carter. Brown originated the role of Sheila in 1992 and remained on The Young and the Restless through 1998. Four years later, Sheila popped up in Los Angeles on The Bold and the Beautiful for a series of appearances that spanned from May 2002 through October 2003. In 2005, Brown headed back to Y&R for a six-month run in Genoa City.

If Sheila does return to Genoa City -- or anywhere else, for that matter -- the writers will have their work cut out for them: When last spotted, Sheila had undergone plastic surgery to look like Phyllis Summers. During the final few months of Sheila's most recent reign of terror, Emmy winner Michelle Stafford played the role of the facially altered Sheila. Explaining how Sheila reverted to her old look would definitely need to be addressed.

Of course, there is also the possibility that Brown could take on another role -- or that the last "Sheila" wasn't really Sheila. Speculation on soapcentral.com's message boards has Sheila as Ryder's mother. In the soap world, the possibilities are endless.

In 1992, Brown earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful.

In addition to her work on The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, Brown has also appeared on three other daytime drama series. In 1999, Brown made a special appearance as Shelly Clark on the now-called NBC soap Another World. From 1999 to 2002, she appeared as Rachel Locke on ABC's Port Charles. In 2004, One Life to Live's casting department cast Brown as an emergency substitute for the role of Paige Miller, after the actress they'd originally hired, Mary Beth Evans, decided not to join the show.

Brown, who has reportedly inked a one-year contract, is said to be returning in early 2010.

On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, romance is in the air for the holidays; Emily tells Jack that she is in love with him; Adam and Sharon declare their amorous feelings to each other; Paul and Nina share a kiss; and Gloria and Jill have a rivalry over Tucker's affections. Meanwhile, Nikki returns to Genoa City in time to celebrate Christmas, Traci and Abby surprise Ashley, and Billy stuns everyone with news about Mac. In a special stand-alone episode on Thursday, Dec. 31, Billy is forced to look at the direction his life is heading when he has a New Year's Eve epiphany.

Mac, Lily and Cane endure a long wait to hear if the implantation was successful

let me guess - instead of 10 days - 2 weeks like everyone else they'll find out in a matter of soap days (which will be a few weeks for us but still too soon to be sure on a pg test being positive and successful)

Adam threatens Nick with a lawsuit after Nick punches him. Michael as usual has to play referee between the two. Nick tells Sharon about what Adam plans to do, she begins to question Adam's motives but Adam convinces Sharon otherwise. MM is quoted saying that Adam tells Sharon why he feels the way he does and he's actually surprised at the depth of the feelings he has for her.

•Nick wants Adam to leave Sharon alone, but Adam won't. Adam pushes Nick buttons to the point where Nick punches Adam. Adam threatens to sue, Michael attempts to do damage control
•Phyllis asks Paul for help in getting Daniel out of jail. Paul asks Heather if he can get a look at the file, it takes some convincing but he gets through to her. Heather is still convinced that Daniel is guilty. Meanwhile, Kevin seems to be wising up about Ryder. He changes his attitude towards him
•Sharon tells Noah about being involved with Adam. Noah isn't exactly pleased with the news but gives Sharon support. Later, Noah tells Abby, neither one are fond of Adam
•JT shows Victoria the article Billy wrote for Restless Style, exposing her testimony to the grand jury and admitting her affair. Victoria and JT argue about the problems in their marriage, which leads JT to walk out on her
•Nick shows up at Sharon's he tells her about punching Adam out and what he has threatened to do. It seems Nick's words have gotten through to Sharon who later confronts Adam about why he really wants to be in a relationship with her

Thanks for the spoilers and updates.
For the "As the World Turns" fans out there, just heard CBS is cancelling the soap. September will be the final airing. And I was just peaking in on that show again.:sad2:Looks like it's the Bells Shows that are all the network can afford.
