Summer 2010 Spoilers for CBS's Young and the Restless
Co-head writer Scott Hamner promised “a lot of huge surprises” on CBS's top soap, The Young and the Restless during the summer of 2010. These surprises include a shocking (or maybe not so shocking) return from the dead by a character that fans will be disappointed is not Drucilla Winters.
Another character’s life will be changed by news of her paternity. And ‘The Naked Heiress’ will continue her quest for fame with an outrageous publicity stunt taken from the pages of real-life celebrities like Paris Hilton. See below for full details.
Adam Newman is Alive
The “murder” of Adam Newman in April 2010 led to the false arrests of his father Victor Newman, and his half-siblings Nicholas and Victoria. It was revealed, via a monologue by Adam’s supposed ghost, that Adam had tried to frame Nicholas for the murder. But Nick’s wife and ex-wife Phyllis and Sharon uncovered a missing man named Richard Hightower who had a striking resemblance to Adam and who was at the Masquerade Ball the night of the murder. It turns out that Adam donated bone marrow to Richard, and because of this, Richard had Adam’s DNA. Thus, the charred body in the basement of the Athletic Club was misidentified as Adam and Adam is very much alive.
To make matters even more complicated, it turns out that the district attorney, Owen Pomerantz, appears to have a hidden agenda and vendetta against the Newmans and that someone thought to be dead has been helping Adam to orchestrate his devious plan for revenge. Soap Opera Digest teases that Victor’s quest to solve his son’s “murder” will take him around the globe. According to Sean Young will guest-star on Y&R for this storyline as Meggie, a barmaid who aids Victor in his search.
Lily’s Cancer Treatment
In May 2010, due to actress Christel Khalil’s maternity leave, Lily Winters Ashby departed for France in order to take part in an experimental procedure to cure her cancer. Her husband Cane Ashby is disappointed that Lily chose the procedure in France over an experimental stem cell treatment, but Lily would not risk harming the couple’s twins, who are being carried by a surrogate. Look for the drama to continue into the summer as Lily returns from France when the procedure is unsuccessful and Cane prepares to sue the twins’ surrogate, Mackenzie Browning, for access to their amniotic fluid. Soap Opera Digest teases that, during a time when Lily and Cane should be united, they find themselves at odds.
Jill Foster’s Paternity
Jill’s adoptive mother Elizabeth Foster and adoptive brothers William “Snapper” and Greg will briefly return to Genoa City to visit with Jill. According to Soap Opera Digest, there will be an illness in the family and Snapper will share information with Jill about her paternity. According to ‘scoop’ posted on Jill will finally find her real birth parents and will also find that she has a biological sibling living right in Genoa City. David Hasselhoff guest-stars as “Snapper,” which will mark the first time in 28 years that the actor has returned to Y&R.
Abby Newman, the Naked Heiress
With her parents Victor Newman and Ashley Abbott refusing to allow Abby access to her inheritance, Abby makes plans to sue them for the money, and also tries to persuade her Uncle Jack to help finance her reality show, The Naked Heiress. In an effort to get even more publicity for herself, Abby will make a sex tape with Daniel Romalotti, whose wife has just left him. Soap Opera Digest teases that although Abby and Daniel initially dislike one another, SOD teases that Daniel will be the only one who can see through the “bravado” that Abby puts on.
Ashley, Neil, Tucker, and Jill Quadrangle
Although she’s currently dating Neil Winters, Ashley Abbott will develop a close working relationship with Tucker McCall – a relationship that may become more personal than professional. But Soap Opera Digest teases that Ashley and Tucker have two different agendas that don’t necessarily coincide with one another. Ashley’s agenda is to make her late father proud by regaining the helm of Jabot Cosmetics, but Tucker’s ultimate goal remains unseen. Still, matters will be further complicated when Tucker’s ex, Jill Foster Abbott, re-enters the picture, insinuating herself into the relationship every chance she gets.
Other Summer Casting Spoilers Jeff Branson, best known for his work as Jonathan Lavery on All My Children and Shayne Lewis on Guiding Light, has been offered a contract on Y&R for a currently unknown role. Head writer Maria Arena Bell tells Nelson Branco of TV Guide Canada’s Suds Report that the role will be “a real breakout role […] over the summer.”

BOO! Yesterday I had to watch soapnet since Obama cut into about 50 mins of Y&R that is on at 12:30 here! My DVR would not help in that situation! I don't always know to DVR Y&R and love having Soapnet to fall back on. We really do NOT need another preschool channel.

we don't get soapnet so it doesn't effect us but why would they do that. disney has a dedicated channel - the disney channel - for kids programming.

ya i know - but i'm not even looking at it right now. so much going on this month with the end of Cassie's dance class, end of school, opening up the pool, spring cleaning.
i don't think it will kick in until after we return from quebec which is a week before we leave for Virginia and Savannah

Victoria and Billy face heat about their marriage. JT is determined to keep Victoria away from Reed while Chloe claims to be pissed for Delia but Chance sees through her jealousyPoor Rafe's party becomes a disaster thanks to his client Abby. Abby is continuing to film the hell she caused when she gets served papers. Victor and Ashley have taken legal action barring Abby from using any footage of them for her reality show. Later, a spiteful Abby tells Nikki and Victor about Victoria's marriageJack calls Michael to help with Emily, he finds out that her arrest has to do with the prescription pad that Patty gave to Jamie. Emily is in a tough position considering Patty is a nutjob. Emily is forced to spend the night in jail until her arraignment.The Newmans and the Abbotts make their plea to Owen about Adam being alive, Hightower being murdered and wanting the body to be tested for DNA. Nope, Owen says he won't do it and will move up Nick's hearing. Owen says he hates the Newmans and the Abbotts because they've all committed crimes and gotten away with it, specifically Jack who framed Adam for the diary and Victor who killed Walter

It's about time ... I can't stand how Victor throws his weight around, controls everybody and gets away with everything ... the same goes for the rest of the Newmans & Abbotts too ... I'm sure Adam will eventually be caught, but I don't mind watching the Newmans squirm, stress & not get what they want for a bit

this whole EMily thing is a bunch of BS. Considering she was in the loonie bin for months and months why on earth would the DA have her arrested until he knew for sure that the RX's were written before Patty kidnapped her and switched places.
