Next up is also a return visit from two years ago. I made a lunch reservation last time for our last day of our stay. We all enjoyed it so much that we rebooked Tutto for dinner this time. I have heard reviews that run from hot to cold on this restaurant. I think that is why I booked as a filler on the last trip but our (and I emphasize OUR experience) was very positive. My DW as I mentioned before is Italian and her family makes some wonderful food. Tutto offers wonderful choices that are in some ways different than how my DWs family prepares them. Obviously there are many different regions of Italy and each has their own way to prepare different items. Anyway we were not disappointed for the second time.
We started with a little bread, peppers, olives and ricotta butter. I guess we were hungry that night because we devoured this so fast that they brought us not one but two additional baskets.
DD16 started off with her favorite Prosciutto di Parma - ham with thin slices of seasonal melon. As before this was excellent.
Since everyone choose their favorites for starters I was once again left to pick something different. I should mention at this point that as others have mentioned that the menu choices have been pared back and the prices have increased. So my choices were less than I had remembered from before. Anyway I choose the Caesar Salad - romaine, olive crostini, pomodorini, and shaved parmesan. It was almost like a deconstructed salad with a large chunk of romaine, dressing, cheese with the large crouton with anchovy paste. I really didnt mind cutting it up and mixing it after I tasted it. This took two shots to really capture how the salad looked.
DD10 read through her appetizer choices and announced that she was going to get the Melanzana Alla Parmigiana - baked eggplant, mozzarella "fior di latte", tomato, parmesan cheese. We asked her if she had ever had eggplant before. She said, yes grammie had made it once and she loved it.
My DW again ordered the Fresh "Bufala" Mozzarella - vine ripened tomatoes, basil and Tuscan olive oil. When I was processing the pictures I was showing them to her and mentioned that I thought the color of the tomatoes were to intense. She told me that know that was how they looked and were that fresh.
I usually dont post pictures of menus but there have been so many incorrect listings for this restaurant that I thought I would give you the one we choose from.
I know that DD16 ordered the Risotto Di Gamberi Creamy arborio rice, shrimp, herbs, butter, parmesan cheese and we are pretty sure that DW ordered this as well. Remeber DD16 is now in love with risotto. They both loved it and the shrimp popped like they should.
I really could not come up with a good choice so I ordered the Lasagna al Forno - with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan. It was good but not as good as DW makes. I am not saying that because she is standing behind me (she is actually out) but I thought that the tomato sauce was a little over cooked. Dont get me wrong, it was delicious but not as good as home.
DD10 got the Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese. She said it was very good but very rich.
Dessert Menu
DD 10 got the Gianduia-Chocolate Gelato. She thought it was a lot better than chocolate ice cream.
DD16 could not make her mind so there was acutally a nice option for her, Piatto di Delizie Dessesrt "Trio", mini-cannoli, Torta cioccolate Alla Nutella, and mocha Tiramisu. Which had a little taste of each.
I ordered the Gianduja - Chocolate Torta - chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce which I had ordered on our previous trip. When you have something that is a winner why change.
DW had wanted to order the cannoli which she had ordered the last time but the waiter talked her out of for the Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce. She was not really expecting it to be to her liking but pleasantly surprised. She really liked the cookies at the bottom.
All and all we had another good experience here. I have to mention that both of my girls were goggling the male help which was kind of funny. We got to talking to our waiter and he mentioned that he was leaving at the end of the year because the restaurant was going to be closed. He said that they our going to remodel/restructure the restaurant come first of the year. We will have to see what comes of that.
