On to desserts! DD10 had the S’mores Cheesecake which was wonderful.

Your photos are fabulous! I have a brand new 23" screen and I tried to lick the cheesecake. (Didn't taste very good. Tasted like HP screen).

Go to a store hand hold all of the different makes and models. How it feels in your hands is a lot more important than the brand. All of the brands (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus) will all take amazing photos. When you choose a brand you are just buying into that family of lenses. Learning how to use them is really the secret. From there it is what is in your budget. The real expense comes when you start buying lenses.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a REAL camera store (not a big-box store where nobody knows anything) and narrowed my choice down to a Canon T3i, Nikon D5100 or a Sony A55. Then I started looking at available lenses and you were right in your comment above, OUCH!! :scared1: Oh well, a guy's gotta have a hobby and I REALLY, REALLY need a new camera for our WDW trips (prior comment for when DW reads this :lmao:).

Keep your food pics coming. With your descriptions, they truly are some of the best I have seen on the DISboards. :worship:

I am so glad that everyone is enjoying this so far. I am off again for a few days so I will try to get this finished up. I am thinking of talking to the Spy Kids 4D people to get some scratch and sniff boards to go along with the pictures to keep those monitors clean.

We have DxDDP for 21 days so I am looking forward to see how you fare as the trip goes on :rotfl:

I have to agree that is a lot of days. We kind of ran out of gas after 7 days but we have a game plan to just use snack credits for breakfast and just eat at signature dinners.

I must say that between DonaldDolewhip's and your pics, reviews, & posts, I have planned my dinner and a lunch for my anniversary weekend, AP & LC lunch. I even decided to add another day so we can have dinner at Rose & Crown, hopefully with an outside seat to watch Illuminations. DBF doesn't know exactly what we are doing, but I know he was salivating over the Buffalo at AP and Filet at LC!!

You both do a great service for Disney, ya'll should be on the payroll for the PR and Promotions department!!

Thank you again for the time and effort you both put into this!!

Thank you for the comments. That would really be a dream job to officially photograph Disney food. Doing studio/real food shots if actually very hard work. I have read a lot about the subject and done some here it home. I once took two hours to take shot of a spoon of peas.

The lenses are what really get you. I have a few but for this trip I rented the 24-70 from borrowlenses. I don't have the $2000 for that one and it was the perfect lens for good shots in restaurants.

Next up is also a return visit from two years ago. I made a lunch reservation last time for our last day of our stay. We all enjoyed it so much that we rebooked Tutto for dinner this time. I have heard reviews that run from hot to cold on this restaurant. I think that is why I booked as a filler on the last trip but our (and I emphasize OUR experience) was very positive. My DW as I mentioned before is Italian and her family makes some wonderful food. Tutto offers wonderful choices that are in some ways different than how my DW’s family prepares them. Obviously there are many different regions of Italy and each has their own way to prepare different items. Anyway we were not disappointed for the second time.

We started with a little bread, peppers, olives and ricotta butter. I guess we were hungry that night because we devoured this so fast that they brought us not one but two additional baskets.

DD16 started off with her favorite Prosciutto di Parma - ham with thin slices of seasonal melon. As before this was excellent.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-36-of-57-L.jpg

Since everyone choose their favorites for starters I was once again left to pick something different. I should mention at this point that as others have mentioned that the menu choices have been pared back and the prices have increased. So my choices were less than I had remembered from before. Anyway I choose the Caesar Salad - romaine, olive crostini, pomodorini, and shaved parmesan. It was almost like a deconstructed salad with a large chunk of romaine, dressing, cheese with the large crouton with anchovy paste. I really didn’t mind cutting it up and mixing it after I tasted it. This took two shots to really capture how the salad looked.

DD10 read through her appetizer choices and announced that she was going to get the Melanzana Alla Parmigiana - baked eggplant, mozzarella "fior di latte", tomato, parmesan cheese. We asked her if she had ever had eggplant before. She said, yes grammie had made it once and she loved it.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-39-of-57-L.jpg

My DW again ordered the Fresh "Bufala" Mozzarella - vine ripened tomatoes, basil and Tuscan olive oil. When I was processing the pictures I was showing them to her and mentioned that I thought the color of the tomatoes were to intense. She told me that know that was how they looked and were that fresh.

I usually don’t post pictures of menus but there have been so many incorrect listings for this restaurant that I thought I would give you the one we choose from.
untitled-1-2-L.jpg

I know that DD16 ordered the Risotto Di Gamberi Creamy arborio rice, shrimp, herbs, butter, parmesan cheese and we are pretty sure that DW ordered this as well. Remeber DD16 is now in love with risotto. They both loved it and the shrimp popped like they should.

I really could not come up with a good choice so I ordered the Lasagna al Forno - with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan. It was good but not as good as DW makes. I am not saying that because she is standing behind me (she is actually out) but I thought that the tomato sauce was a little over cooked. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious but not as good as home.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-44-of-57-L.jpg

DD10 got the Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese. She said it was very good but very rich.

Dessert Menu
untitled-1-L.jpg

DD 10 got the Gianduia-Chocolate Gelato. She thought it was a lot better than chocolate ice cream.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-47-of-57-L.jpg

DD16 could not make her mind so there was acutally a nice option for her, Piatto di Delizie Dessesrt "Trio", mini-cannoli, Torta cioccolate Alla Nutella, and mocha Tiramisu. Which had a little taste of each.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-48-of-57-L.jpg

I ordered the Gianduja - Chocolate Torta - chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce which I had ordered on our previous trip. When you have something that is a winner why change.
WDW-Aug-8-pm-54-of-57-L.jpg

DW had wanted to order the cannoli which she had ordered the last time but the waiter talked her out of for the Copetta Sotto Bosco - berries, zabaglione cream gelato and chocolate sauce. She was not really expecting it to be to her liking but pleasantly surprised. She really liked the cookies at the bottom.

All and all we had another good experience here. I have to mention that both of my girls were goggling the male help which was kind of funny. We got to talking to our waiter and he mentioned that he was leaving at the end of the year because the restaurant was going to be closed. He said that they our going to remodel/restructure the restaurant come first of the year. We will have to see what comes of that.

As usual, everything looks amazing, even if some things tasted better than others. That pea spoon shot is just blowing my mind! :worship:

Looking forward to seeing what happens when Tutto is renovated. I remember hearing when it first opened a few years ago that it was meant to be temporary, and a new design/concept would be replacing it. But nothing happened, and eventually Via Napoli opened next door (providing a new concept for the Italy Pavilion). I wonder if the decor/menu will drastically change. :confused3

Oh my goodness!! This is a delish feast!!! The pics are amazing! I'm a sony person myself, but can't swallow the cost of the DSLRs with the multiple lenses. I agree, though, get the one that feels right. I keep buying the sony because I'm familiar with the bells and whistles. It's a shorter learning curve when I upgrade to the fancier one each time I replace it. Next time--the BIG SHOW--the multiple lens puppy!

Looking forward to each post!

Your photos continue to amaze me. The shot of the peas is really neat!

Tutto hasn't really interested me much before, but with your photos, I'm kind of want to try it now!

Yay another review to catch up on :woohoo:

Firstly I want to say that the shot of the peas is stunning :worship: I love the way that the steam swirls up from the spoon and the vibrant green of the peas against the black back drop - a wonderful simple subject that just pops out at you :goodvibes

On to the food !!

Wow Tutto looks really good, I've never considered it before but it's on the list now :thumbsup2

Great photos from Tutto. We ate there in January and had several of the same dishes as you - your pictures brought back fond memories!:goodvibes

What a beautiful review of Tutto. We had the best meal there in May! I love the pics of everything, esp the desserts:goodvibes

.

I had the farfelle :cloud9: when we ate there in 2009. Now I wish I had ordered this!!! :rotfl:

Again, awesome pictures! :thumbsup2 That pea shot deserves to be on a motivational poster.

Wouldn't that be the neatest thing to be able to smell the food associated with the pics on your screen?

Hadn't thought of renting a lens before I buy. Great idea! Thanks.

We really like Tutto Italia as well. There are not very many GOOD Italian restaurants, especially in smaller towns and even then, most of them serve an Americanized version of Italian food. Couple that with maybe people go to Tutto expecting Olive Garden and are disappointed? :lmao: Don't get me wrong, I like Olive Garden (for what it is) but to semi-quote a certain past VP candidate, "I know Italian food. Italian food is my friend. And Olive Garden, you are not REAL Italian food!! :rotfl2:

(Now I'll wait for flames from the Olive Garden lovers!)

LOL comparing it to Olive Garden! I too like Olive Garden for what it is, but it's like cheap Italianish food hehe.

What amazing pictures and a great review! I can't wait to see the rest of your meals! I have lurked on these boards for over a year but have been too shy to make a name, but I had to register to say what wonderful pictures you are posting! Thanks! :)

I think you might have it backwards. I've never been to Olive Garden, but I've been to some great Italian restaurants in NYC that cost the same or less than Tutto. Tutto is really quite mediocre for what it costs, IMO. That applies to many Disney restaurants, but people are still happy to be there because it's Disney (plus, when using credits, more overpriced = better value).

Wouldn't that be the neatest thing to be able to smell the food associated with the pics on your screen?

I suppose it depends on where you live, but the Italian restaurants and the seafood places are the best/ most authentic restaurants we have in this area.:goodvibes For that reason, I don't know if I'll ever talk DH into eating an Italian meal at Disney.

OP - fabulous pictures!

Oh your photos! They are gorgeous! The food looks amazing!

I have a good camera but I am ashamed to admit that I use it on auto. I have never taken the time to learn how to use it. Someday.....
