My family and I are headed down in December and have rented DVC points for a OKW studio. We are myself - DS23 - DD22 and DS13. My sister and six-yr old niece have now decided to come down also. They will be probably be staying at a value resort but my question is if we could get in trouble if they slept in our room a couple of times during our ten day stay?

Just noticed you are staying in a studio which has a maximum occupancy of 4. So yes, you could get in trouble and be asked to leave.

the DVC studios only sleep 4. Maybe you could switch to a one bedroom and they could just stay with you. OKW 1 bedrooms sleep 5, they have a sleeper chair.

Just noticed you would have six total, not 5. Sorry, one bedroom wouldn't work either.

No, that's not going to work. As PPs have said, the max occupancy of the room is 4.

Even if you weren't over the limit, there's nowhere for them TO sleep. There are two queen beds in the room, no daybed or anything like that, so they'd be sleeping on the carpet. And the resort will not provide you with any additional sheets, blankets or pillows. Not to mention, six people sharing one bathroom wouldn't be optimal.

A one-bedroom won't work, either, the max occupancy of those at OKW is 5.

If you do want your sister and niece to stay with you for part of your vacation, I'd suggest going back to the member you rented from and ask if they'd be willing to try to change your reservation to a two-bedroom villa for the nights they'd be staying with you. It would be roughly twice the cost of the studio for those nights.

Not only could you get in trouble but you could possibly get the owner in trouble. As a DVC owner I would not be happy if a renter ignored the rules.

The studios, even the larger ones at OKW, are not large enough for 6 people, especially with 5 of them being adults.
