XMIL made a comment yesterday

Yesterday, i had to go to my XMIL's to pick up my child support check. (dont ask....)...

anyway it seems XBIL is having issues with his seperation from his girlfriend, they have a 2 year old son. I knew they seperated because she called me to ask what the state says about custody etc...She felt that he should buy her a car or give her the Audi etc... I said- nope not here, he's not required etc.. any way.

XMIL and I were talking and she said she now is the drop off point for my nephew. BIL will drop him off and leave, and then his ex will come about 1/2 hour later and pick him up. It's gotten to the point where they dont talk to one another...sad really.

Anyway- XMIL looks at me and says- you know I really wish you and John could have shown the rest of them how it was done. Both XBIL's that are in the middle of seperations/divorces have issues like this. where, John and I are still very good friends etc. I just looked at her, and she said- no really Brandy, if your going to seperate, the way you and John did it is the way to do it.

I just turned to her and said- well, we do whats best for the girls, unfortunatly other people forget about the kids, where we decided from the start, we might not be able to live together, but for the rest of our lives we will have to communicate, and that we do much better now LOL.

Was a nice compliment to receive from her.

My DD I and I were just talking about a neighbor last night and how she and her ex get along really well and the kids are not in the middle of anything. They work together. I told DD I wished more people were like them. I am glad to know there are some.
