Dh and I will be taking my Nephew to WDW with us in June. I'd like to get him something Disney trip related as part of his Xmas gift. Any ideas?
He knows he's going and he will be getting a gift card with spending money but that will be handed over once we reach FL.
He has a cell phone but I don't know anything else about it other than he can text on it.

Does he have his own suitcase?
If he has an MP3 player, maybe a gc for new music etc to use on the trip.

If he has never been before, what about a guide book so he can read about the rides before he goes so he knows what to expect?

If he has an iphone or an ipod touch, what about some apps that are disney related.

Having a f14 year old boy, no 13 year old boy wants Disney anything for Christmas. The Ipone/Ipod Disney apps are well, not very teen boy friendly. But if there is one about maps and the parks, that is possible.

Some teen boys like NBC and some like Pirates. Or they could be like my son who hated both. 13 year old boys are so picky, I'd almost say that he can pick out something when he is there.

If he has PSP maybe the Kingdom Hearts games or DS has a new verizon of Kingdom Hearts.

My DS is 11. He would not want anything Disney for Christmas. He did not even want souvenier while we were there. He find a goofy tshirt at castaway cay.

I'd just allow him to pick out while he is there. He may or may not want anything. Kids are too hard to read. When I took my nephew he came home with a Coca-cola bear from Epcot of all things. My 15 yo hasn't bought a Disney souvie in years! Used to a hat (baseball cap style) or a Stitch pin but recent years--nothing. I went in Oct. and bought her a Nemo lrg. stuffed animal. She's always loved that movie and for some reason, loves anything Nemo. That's about the only Disney themed thing she cares for. (rolling my eyes and waiting for this phase to pass, lol)

With teens, in my experience, the trip is usually quite enough.

Thanks for suggestions so far. I don't think he has an ipod or mp3 player. He has a luggage set or will be using his dad's. He has been before with his dad and his dad's buddy. I will probably just get him guide book and maybe a dig camera or something like that.

What about a book about hidden Mickey's? I got one for my nephew(17) a few years ago. He loved it and so did his younger brothers (12, 11 and 9).

OMG - I was scanning the thread titles too quickly & thought this one said "X-rated Disney gift for 13-yr old boy!" :scared1:

I agree the Hidden Mickey book is great for any age. My DS12 also loves anything Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. He'd never admit it but he'd LOVE a Pirates hat & sword! When I go without him (3 times in a row now - bad mommy!) I get him things like collector pins from either of the above rides, playing cards & notebooks/journals.

I think the Hidden Mickey book and a guide book are the best ideas. My DS is only 6 and he LOVES going to WDW, but doesn't really want Disney stuff outside of WDW. Of course, while we are AT WDW, he asks for everything in sight.

Maybe buy a one day pass to Universal for a day trip? I know it is not Disney related, but he would probably LOVE Universal!

I have a 13 year old boy, and he's all about electronics.

I got him a Flip digital video camera for his birthday that was a few weeks before our last trip. He loved recording stuff at WDW, then making videos and still pictures when we got home.

Thanks for suggestion but he can go to Universal with his dad and dad's buddy when he travels with them. Aunt and Uncle will only treat him to Disney plus he is getting to do a water park day with us a first.

How about Disneyquest? Is that an option? A virtual arcade is like heaven for a teenage boy, although you may need earplugs if you go in with him. You could do that on a lazy morning, since it doesn't open until 11:30am.

Okay, I'm a 23yr old non-mother so all I have is my personal opinion and retail experience, but unless he is very excited about going to Disney - I know, who wouldn't be? - But if that's all he'll talk about, THEN get him something Disney related for Christmas.

If not, then get him something he can use/enjoy there. As you and another said, get a digital camera or a video camera (if money allows). Or something he can do on the way there (someone already suggested this as well) like a video game or music that he can listen to in the car/flight.

If the Disney trip IS his Christmas present and you just want to give him something tangible, then I would totally go with a guide book, to help amp up his excitement.

I know I didn't say anything new but... let me use a story from my childhood ^_^ I kinda wanted a baby doll for my birthday, so I let my mother know. I did in fact get a babydoll, but every other birthday present I got was babydoll clothes, accessories etc. I never told them (just my sister knows to this day lol) but I didn't want any of the accessories or lots of girly clothing. I only sorta wanted a babydoll.
My point is, it's really easy to misread children and go completely overboard. If he collects frog toys & you give him a box full of them, it kinda kills the love of collecting. (this actually happened to my adult aunt! LOL Everyone kept getting her frogs & eventually, she had enough)

But, that's just my opinion ^_^;; Now it's me buying my parents too many things (parents are horrible at writting wish lists! )

That is a fantastic idea.. I know my kids 12 and 14 (almost 15) love it there.

I totally understand what you are saying we plan on giving him something else like a walmart gc or something also. He has said in past that he has never gotten to really enjoy parks as dad and buddy usually only go for day or so. I'm hoping his parents give me some ideas as to what kids( him, his sister, half brother) want but I'm not holding out hope on that front and I'm not waiting until Christmas Eve again. :scared1:

That is a possiblity do Ap holders get a discount on tixs here? or do I need to buy him plus part on tix. I really don't see all the pluses being used if I have to go that route.
