Hi all,

We are planning to visit WDW this December, in the first or second week (not sure when, we would be staying at ASMo and Pop Warner week worries us a little bit...). My question: Would the christmas decorations be in place? Our DD (3yrs) LOVES the season and would like to give her an special treat.

Thanks for your help,

Luis Rodriguez

The Christmas decorations are always up before Thanksgiving. It's magic to be at a resort and go to bed at night with everything normal and wake up in the morning and have everything decorated. Just part of the Disney Magic. Have a wonderful time and if there's time you should tour the resorts. My favorite is Boardwalk because I love the old fashioned glass balls and they use a ton of them. :earsboy:

Thanks all for your answer. Now all that remains to be seen is the issue of Pop Warner's week...

All up and the resorts will be decorated also. You are visiting at a special time of year.If you can do a MVMCP,you will love it.Make sure to attend a performance of a Candlelight Processional and visit MGM to see Osborne Lights.Have been several times during Pop Warner Week doesn't effect crowd levels that much.Have a magical vacation. :goodvibes :wizard: ::yes:: :wave2:

I believe POP Warner will there around Dec 4th-Dec 10th. I purposely moved my vacation back almost a week to avoid them. I'll be there Dec 9th-Dec 18th, so should only see them the last day or two. Most people say they're not that noticable in the park, but overrun the Value resorts and some of the Moderates. I'll be at POFQ for the first five days of my vacation, so expect to have to deal with them on the buses only my first day. I too really wanted to see the Christmas decorations, but know that WDW gets more crowded the week of and the week after Christmas, so for me Dec 9th-Dec 18th seemed the best time to go.

Aubriee,

Yes, I was planning to be traveling at the same date as you (Dec 9th-Dec 18th) but I have found that the plane fares from Venezuela (where I live) are somewhat higher after the 15th, and *maybe* I could get stuck with higher prices.

I'm still "juggling" the pros (less crowds) and cons (higher prices). What is almost sure is that I WILL BE GOING TO WDW THIS DECEMBER!!. And that is what counts. :earsboy:

PopWarner is an association promoting American football for young persons--so look out for the youthful high spirits & high-energy noise! :goodvibes

From my understanding it's not the football players (other than a few fights) that cause the problems. It's the thousands of unsupervised screaming cheerleaders practicing outside the resorts early in the mornings and late at night, overrunning the pools, and stampeding the buses everytime one pulls up. If you do a search on here for Pop Warner you'll find all kind of horror stories about them being MUCH worse than the Brazillian tour groups. Again I don't believe they're that bad at the parks. because they are busy during the day competing, but are supposedly terrible at the Value and some Moderate resorts. Don't get me wrong, I love kids but anytime you get that many in one place, for the most part unsupervised, they're going to be loud and obnoxious. I simply chose to move my vacation back a week in order to avoid them for the most part. Hopefully they'll all be gone by the 10th of Dec, but you couldn't pay me to stay in a value resort Dec4th-10th.

aubriee - Yep, you described the girls exactly. FYI, there's another gathering each February of cheerleaders/twirlers the week before President's Day weekend each year - beware!
