Let me start by saying I never liked Howard Stern and his continual emphasis on breasts, etc. So when I heard Opie and Anthony were coming on XM, I didn't care, thinking they were like Howard. However, I stumbled on them one day, and now I often listen to them when I'm alone in the car on the way home from work (NEVER with the kids). Sure they swear a lot but I haven't heard too much "breast chat" (I switch it if it gets like that). I only get to hear them in 15-20 minute bursts, maybe I'm missing that stuff, but I think they're pretty funny. Anyone else think so? I think they are WAAAAAY better than Stern.

I like Howard (I also change with the breast chat) and I have never heard O & A, but I am sure I would like them. Just so you know they copy Howard.

I like talk radio...:sunny:

In fact I just hooked up my Sirius today and am listening.

No, I don't think they do copy Howard. I tried Howard a few years ago when he was on a local station and he bored me to death. I think O and A are much better. To each his own I guess! Anyone else listen to them on XM?

If my memory serves me correctly, they used to be played locally around here. I can't recall ever really listening to them. But they were wildly popular! It think it was a big deal when they were pulled of the air and people where happy that they were going to be on XM.

I was never a fan of O&A. Some guys at work are big fans. They would come in to working singing the little songs. Those were funny. But my ex boyfriend used to love them and had one of those WOW stickers on his car. I wasn't a fan of that. The whole deal with that was tha if you're a female and you see that sticker on the car then you should flash the driver or whatever.

I tried to listen to them a few times and didn't find them funny at all.

I also didn't like that whole stunt they did at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Totally crossed the line.

I'm not a big fan of Howard. My boyfriend likes him though. But there are times when I listen and he's funny. And as a disclaimer, I have worked on a couple of his specials and he was always pleasant.

Sounds like I will stick to my 50's channel 5 and Fox News or WGN talk radio.

We tuned it in once while going through the channels and we heard like 3 F words in the span of like 5 minutes and them making fun of a mentally challenged person. We have since blocked the station.

I stopped listening to Opie the day that he joked that Nicole Simpson was going to be a Pez dispenser for Halloween. As much as I dislike Howard Stern, I would much rather listen to him talk about breasts than listen to Opie mock someone's horrible death.

I thought that they were hilarious when they were on WAAF in Boston years ago :earseek: :rotfl: I don't think that they're anything like Howard, although I find him funny a lot of the time too (but not always). O+A definitely kept me laughing, and I was bummed when they got the boot out of Boston.

They are no way copying Howard. O&A are funny to start not like Howard and they don't have ego's bigger than themselves, just a couple of local guys( from where I live ) who are funny as hell and have a great time doing what they do.

Although alot of their stuff is very offensive, I did have to laugh at alot of the stuff they did - some stuff was CRAZY - too crazy to go into on this board. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did on regular radion. They definatley had a big following around here - I don't have XM so I don't listen to them anymore.

DH and I used to listen to O and A before they got in serious trouble here in the NY/NJ area for some very off-color stunts.

I'm generally not a fan of shock radio, but these two guys were very funny in small doses.

I've heard them on my Satellite TV on one of the XM stations. It seems now they just use the "F" word and "S" word in every sentence because they can and I don't think they're as funny. Truth be told, I found them trying to get around the censors on FM radio to be part of why they were so funny.

I cannot stand Howard, but I used to listen to O&A when they were still on regular radio, and I could get the signal. I even belonged to the O&A message board (thanks to DBF).

I can't see paying to listen to ANYONE though.
