Do any stores ever put them on sale?

I'm looking for a new one, I'm not going to deal with the hassle of a used console.

I don't think they usually get discounted, but I figured if any one knew, you guys would.:thumbsup2

They never go on sale, the best you can do is to find one bundled with a couple of games or extra controller. Watch Sam's BJ's or Costco for this, or Keep an eye out in the circulars. We got ours at Circuit City w/ an extra game and free xbox live for 3 mo

I thought so. I don't really need a bundle. I don't need any more games, those we have.

I will look at BJ's though, now that I think about it, they are usually a few $$ cheaper.

Thanks!

You probably won't be able to find one on sale but you might be able to get one that has been bundled with some extras and games or a store GC for just a little more than the list price of the unit.

I'm also looking for one to use as a door prize for the after-prom. I haven't found anything recently. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting one around the holidays. They had all kinds of bundle deals back then.

thanks.
I'm going to stop at BJ's on my way to work tonight and see what they have.

I know you said you didn't want the hassle of a used one, but if you are trying to save money, that's really the best way to go. Besides, if you get it from GameStop, you can get their warranty that will replace the box if it is damaged for any reason.

I wouldn't buy one off of someone else, because you get no warranty, and no console is solid enough to not have a warranty. I am on my second 360 and am glad I had the warranty the first time.

I was looking at Gamestop, but honestly, add in the warranty, and it's almost the same price as the new unit.

And I've heard too many horror stories about the used units. My brother friend works at Gamestop. Many units end up with the ring of death shortly after people get them home.

It's not just the used units that end up with the ring of death. I have a friend who's been through 3 units since they came out due to the ring of death. His most recent was in November. The original console was brand new from Best Buy. The replacements were direct from Microsoft.

I understand about the cost, but you'd need to get the warranty if you bought one new too. Red Ring of Death isn't the only thing that can go bad.

My first 360 was used and started to go bad right around the 1 year mark. My wife bought the full coverage and I just returned it for another one.
