I'm confused. Are Wyndham Palms and Windsor Palms the same place? I was looking at vrbo.com and the Windsor Palms Resort listings say "formerly Wyndham Palms Resort."

Steve

Fleisure:

Are you sure? If you do a Google search for Windsor Palms and then do a search for Wyndham Palms, they don't look the same. The Windsor Palms looks like vacation homes and the Wyndham Palms looks like a condo resort. I have reservations at the
Wyndham Palms next week. It is not called the Windsor Palms. It is on the Wyndham website as the Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club.

I found this explanation when I did a search of this board --

"Wyndham Palms Resort & Country Club" is the former "The Palms--A Tempus Resort" -- This is a timeshare now owned by the Wyndham Hotel group.

"Windsor Palms" is the former "Wyndham Palms" -- This is a community of individually owned vacation homes.

To make matters more confusing, they are both located off Highway 192 in the West Gate area of Kissimmee!

They appear to be two different resorts.

Here's the history :

The Wyndham Hotel and Spa is in downtown Disney and is owned by the Wyndham Hotel nationwide hotel chain. Then there was the Wyndham Palms condo/villa/homes resort west of the Animal Kingdom This has been renamed Windsor Palms because the Wyndham Hotel chain has sued them for wrongful name.

And that's a very simplified version of events !

The Palms (condo's) is across the street from Windsor Palms...just to add to the confusion ! :)

I don't think so. .

The Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club and the Windsor Palms have different addresses and are two different resorts.

The Wyndham Palace in Downtown Disney is just one of many Wyndham hotels in Orlando.

What I'm trying to say is that they are not one and the same. The original poster asked if the Wyndham Palms and the Windsor Palms was the same resort. The answer is no they are not.

It is confusing, but I think the answer is -- they are two separate resorts.

but, the original poster on this thread stated "formerly Wyndham Palms Resort." so that means YES !!

Confused you will be :)

True, but the original poster asked "are Wyndham Palms and Windsor Palms the same place?" The answer to that question is no. Now, the history of these two places is quite confusing, but the answer to the op question is "no".

It's all clear as mud.

Wyndham Palms: nice, newer condos with golf course owned by Wyndham hotel chain

Windsor Palms: house rentals, used to be Wyndham Palms, but had to change name

Wyndham Palace: hotel in downtown Disney area

Thanks for all the replies. Now I'm really confused. LOL

Here is the quote from the Vacation Rentals By Owner website at vrbo.com

"Windsor Palms Resort (formerly Wyndham Palms) is a brand-new, private, gated community just three miles from Disney."

Not only that, but Windsor Palms address is 2300 Wyndham Palms Way.

I guess you can understand my confusion after reading that statement and several of the replies to my original question.

Steve

The address of the Wyndham Palms is 7900 Palms Parkway. This isn't the same location you are looking at on the vrbo website, even if it was called Wyndham Palms at one time.

To see what the Wyndham Palms looks like go to www.thepalmsresort.com , this will show you what the units look like. They are more like condos.

Actually, Windsor Palms on Wyndham Palms Way has both pool homes and condos within the complex. There is a map of the complex at http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/resort.htm#map

I think I've got it figured out now, but is certainly confusing when surfing the web.

Steve,
Yes, you've figured it out.....whoever you are renting from, MC or private owner...just ask them if it is the sub-division down the road from Indian Creek and Rollings Hills. The one leading of Formosa Gdns Blvd !! That will clear it up once and for all !
