I have seen some disturbing reports on tripadvisor about the resort. Please put our minds at rest or give us sufficient cause to worry. All reports I have seen so far on disboards seem to be favourable. I await with interest your up to date views and comments. We will be there end of september and first weeks of october.

it seems to depend upon what you have - the 2-bedrooms everyone seemed happy with - there appears that they have two types of 1-bedroom - in any other timeshare - this would be a one bedroom and a studio - evidently they have convienced II to value their studio as a 1-bedroom - and this has made alot of guests very mad.

I mean you expect all the luxuaries of a 1-bedroom and instead find yourself in a studio - some have say that their bedroom in their home resort was bigger than this so called 1-bedroom.

So if you get a 2-bedroom you will be very happy - if you get the regular size 1-bedroom you should also be happy - it was only in the studio size 1-bedroom that I was seeing the complaints.

Hi - My husband and I and our two kids, dd 10; ds 4, recently (not so recently) stayed there on May 11-15, 2003. We loved it. I got a great rate from hotelkingdom.com for 89.90 a night plus tax. I got that information from this DIS board. I also gleaned from this board suggestions for a room location - I called after my reservation was confirmed and I joined their Wyndham By Request Program, building 10, 3rd floor in the corner. They couldn't guarantee that room but when we checked in - that is what we got! It was a beautiful room overlooking the golf course and a couple of waterfalls. The screened in porch was great. It also gave us a view of the mini golf area and the children's play area where we could watch our kids playing on the swings while they were waiting for us to come down to leave for the parks, etc. (They were only alone for 5-10 min!).

The room was a two bedroom with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer (the stack on top of each other kind) hidden away in a closet. The kids slept in one room that had 2 queen size beds and their own bathroom off that room - it even had its own door, so it was like their own apartment!

Our bedroom was off the living room (which had a 52" TV) had a slider to go out to the screened balcony. There also was a double closet with a safe located in the bedroom and lots of mirrors. There was also a TV in this room. Our bathroom was located inside the bedroom, it had a door. The bathroom had double sinks on the vanity with plenty of room to put your products. There was a stand alone shower with glass doors and a huge jacuzzi tub. We were all very happy with the accommodations.

We have a timeshare at Orange Lake (owner) and it was about a 10 min. ride to this timeshare (we stayed an extra week ; ). Right off of 192. It's a quick ride to the parks.

By joining their Wyndham By Request Program (it's free) - we received upon check in - 2 2 liter bottles of soda (your choice, pepsi, sierra mist and something else), popcorn for the microwave and 4 bottles of water. In the room was a bottle of Merlot (a small bottle), some cheese and crackers.

The pool was a quick drive or walk across the street and wasn't crowded (2 small pools) with lots of lounge chairs. There was a kiddie pool there with a mushroom thingy in the middle. They also had a small snack bar that served burgers, chicken sandwiches, hotdogs and a tiki bar that served frozen drinks and beers. The prices weren't that bad. If I remember correctly, they did not supply towels so you should brings some from your room.

There is another pool located a couple of buildings away - you'll need to drive there - I didn't go to that one, but noticed that one of those mushrooms things there too -

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Have a great time!

Just returned from Wyndham Palms on Wed (7/30/03). We were there five nights in a two bedroom villa booked through Hotel Kingdom. We were very pleased with our stay. The room was wonderful, the staff was very pleasant, and the location (very close to WDW) was perfect. Check out other topics on this board (I think "Just back from Wyndham Palms" has the short cut directions to WDW).

I was at the Wyndham Palms Resort and CC for two nights -
July 18-19. We were in a two bedroom, two bath (as described by other posters), which was very nicely decorated and quite large. I, too, booked through hotelkingdom.com and got the rate of $89. It was a very good value for the money. We didn't use the pool or any other amenities, so I can't comment. The complex was quite large and very nice. It was a five minute drive to WDW.

The only thing I didn't like was the 192 area leading to this complex. I have not stayed offsite before. I prefer the Crossroads area near DD rather this area - nothing specific, it just didn't "hit me". That is really the only negative. Otherwise, it was fine.

I read the negative post on tripadvisor. I posted my review on tripadvisor. I gave it three stars.

We love staying at the WP. I've :bounce: some other threads for you to look at.

PeterJ,
I would not put much credence into those Trip Advisor posts. Anyone can post whatever they want anonymously, and after reading the negative ones, I would suggest they are fabricated. (Possibly from employees of other timeshares or hotels in the area.) Nobody could have had all the problems those two posters claimed to have. The reviews on these boards have been glowing, and I look forward to my October stay.
