Wyndham Palms Condos

Just back this week from our stay at the Wyndham Palms Condos and wanted to let fellow DISers know that it's a great place to stay. This is a gated property which is about 2 miles off US 192 in a quiet area, and we were no more than 10 minutes to any of the Disney parks, which was great when we wanted to head back to our condo to take mid-afternoon breaks with our two little ones. The three-bedroom condo we stayed in was spotless and beautifully equipped, and the recreational facilities at the complex were just outstanding (huge pool we had trouble getting the kids out of, hot tub for us, playground, and club house with 58-seat movie theatre, fitness centre, sundry shop, games room). If anyone has any questions about the property please don't hesitate to ask. We'll be going back again next year!

Would you mind sharing your rate for the 3 br. Did you go thru their website to reserve?

I just saw this place mentioned in the AAA Florida book, and the AAA discount is supposed to 50%.

Glad to hear you had such a good time there. We are heading down this week to stay in a house at Wyndham Palms. How were the crowds at the pool? And, were they ever running movies in the theatre?

Hercamore - there are two resorts right next to each other with Palms in their names - we drove by the resort you're referring to at 7900 Palms Parkway. The big sign out front says "The Palms Resort - A Tempus Property". It looks gorgeous by the way, but the property we were at is just across from that one off of Sandhill Road rather than off Old Lake Wilson Road. It is on Wyndham Palms Way and has a small sign out front that says "Wyndham Palms". Confusing, to be sure. We rented directly from an owner on www.vrbo.com and had a great experience dealing with him. You can email me directly at jhayton@storm.ca if you would like his coordinates. We talked to others staying there when we did who had also rented privately, but I know there also are a number of management companies that rent condos there if you'd prefer to go that route (you might want to type in Wyndham Palms on yahoo.com - you'll note there are a number of different individuals/companies that offer units at different rates). We paid $695 for the week plus taxes, and felt that it was a real steal for the quality of the unit we had and the recreational facilities. Grlzmom, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in your rental home - we did a drive through the streets of rental homes on-property and thought the homes looked lovely and spacious. There were no crowds to speak of at the pool when we were there, and the water was beautifully warm by the way (I hate cold pools!) There were movies every night at 7:30, and during the day once when we were there they were playing Toy Story 2 for a bunch of kids - I'm sure there were other movies during the day as well, but wee were usually only inside in late afternoon and early evening - the weather was too nice. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask, and have a great trip!

thanks for clearing up the question on the palms. I would have reserved at one place thinking it was another!

They both sound nice, tho.

I am SOOOO glad to hear this. I booked our Memorial Day week condo there in January and was hoping it would be all I expected.
